Future Looks Bright

You lose all credibility when you say "borderline clueless front office." We have been one of the best drafting teams in the league the last few years and we are not killing our salary cap by paying stars at free agency. They have one of the best rosters and one of the youngest because of the front office
If you actually paid attention and knew what the hell you were talking about, you would understand that Dallas is one of the worst run franchises

And it starts with being fooled that Dak Friggin Prescott is a franchise QB

The best rum brand I have ever drunk in my adult life (and I have sampled quite a few :p ). The problem is the distillery does not export it to the states from the Bahamas. I found out about the brand on a cruise my wife and I took there. I am taking an extra suitcase just for packing more bottles on our next trip. :muttley:

That's good stuff. My neighbor is Jamaican and has his family bring a supply when they visit.

True, We have youth and one of the youngest teams that should be a set foundation for years to come. We have talent and playmakers and upcoming players developing and look forward to, on BOTH sides of the ball.
1) Zeke is the lead guy and the is tone we set on offense. It’s predicated off his presence.
2) The other is Prescott, the entire organization is sold and committed to him as a player and leader.
I saw a stat on NFL Network that Dak since he’s been in the league has the 2nd most wins by a starting QB (behind Brady) so the intangibles are there.

3) The process was placing as many playmakers around Dak as possible and keep building on the OL in front of him. We’re seeing that happening with Cooper, Gallup, Cobb, Jarwin and speed role guys such as Pollard, Johnson, Davis, etc.

And we are still adding blockers like the two Connors in the last two years. We are also assembling a good net of backups. Have to keep an eye on those two starting OTs though. Smith to stay healthy- Lael to be more consistent (he still acts like he doesn’t know how to use his hands well)

4) Now it seems it’s about placing the best coaches around him that can best exploit his skill level. At this time that coach seems to be Kellen moore, Jon Kitna and Doug Mussneheir (sp)
What they get out of Garrett in addition is an extra luxury, imo.

5) the nucleus of the defense is the LBs in LVE and Jaylon. What we get out of oft-injured sean lee is a luxury (I don’t think he makes it thru the season) if the backups can hold, that will help greatly.
I think we have promise and potential and we seem to be at our top at home, but we still don’t have enough top pass rushers and ball hawks, we don’t get enough turnovers, we don’t
have enough sacks, pressure disruption vs pass , and we have too many leaks vs run when we get on the road., and we have to get teams off field on 3rd downs.
Our CBs don’t make INTs and safeties were just decent- There’s still much room for improvement.
But we do seem to be faring better, more competitive against top QBs ala Brees, Wilson, Wentz, Stafford and Matt Ryan. We’ll see more vs Brady, Rodgers and again Brees in 19.

- Simply put, I want to this defense to be dominant – beyond just one or two stand out games- and I’d like to see it most on the road. Not just a unit that only plays downhill to the defense.
There were times where defense carried team in several games And held together vs some top teams (ala saints, seattle playoff, philly, ATL) for eventual offense pull out.

6) We are not settled on special teams, the kicker is too up and down, and not always clutch in final seconds. punter Chris jones needs to rebound in the return game it’s a wait and see,
. but there are big play guys like Pollard, Austin, Cobb and maybe Davis may give us a boost in return game.
And we still have too many breakdowns on special teams coverage.

We are the third youngest team in the league and have 8 players in the top hundred, more than any other team. I know some of you don't like the quarterback (I do!) but we have a great running back (he will sign), great WR, two great LBs, a great offensive line and a young hungry defense, that was amazing last year and has a year more experience this year. Not a fan of the coach but I'll give him a chance not to mess it up. I give the front office mad kudos for putting this squad together by good drafting and not overpaying on free agency.
We are set up to be contenders for many years if we can sign our top players as their contracts come up. I know that's a big if but it's possible with some creative financing.
I live in Eagle country and all I hear is how stacked they are this year and, this may be true, but they are an older team and better get it done in the next couple years or it'll be too late. I feel that we are just as stacked as any team in the league and our window is open alot wider than those teams. It is a great time to be a Cowboys fan and I feel that we will definitely win a Lombardi in the next few years.
Now I know that you naysayers will be quick to point out Garrett and Dak but I choose to say the glass is half full. I am gonna enjoy this run. This season can be special. Can't wait!
Last season we were the youngest starting team in the league.

If you paid attention you would know it WAS one of the worst run franchises but Jerry is letting people who know their **** manage the team now. And Dak has the second most wins since he came into the league behind Brady. Do I want to pay him 30 million dollars? No. But what is the alternative? Who do you have to run the offense?

Dak has nothing

Wins are a team stat. He has won games when he threw 2 or more INTs. He has won games with a score of 6-0. He has won games with a rating of under 60.

Wins are a team stat. This isnt tennis

Heath has cost this team plenty of games, and it sounds like his job isn't even in question, scouting and coaching is terrible if that remains week 1.
