I've got Durant as a lock because Dallas attempted to re-sign him last year before he chose to go to Atlanta for more money and he played well in 2014. However, I cannot recall seeing him play this preseason, unless I just haven't noticed him.

The Cowboys generally don't do this, but he is a player they could cut and bring back after a week or 2 if they really needed a roster spot. He was unsigned for most of the off-season so it's not as if somebody is going to jump to sign him now.

Maybe, but I haven't seen enough linebackers look like they deserve to be on the field with the starting lineup to cut Durant. Players like Wilson and Nzeocha are intriguing but have yet to show they are ready for that kind of role.

The only ones who have shown they can handle starting are Lee, Hitchens, Durant, Wilber and Gachkar and I would prefer that Wilber and Gachkar remain backups if they are kept.

Hmm that makes the DL a pita to figure out. Keep 10? Tapper to IR? Cut McClain? Hope likely in vain that Jenkins makes the PS?

The defensive scheme is based upon having a dominant DL, so I want to keep as many as possible.

I agree with that list except Russell is better than you are giving him credit for. He has that roster spot at the moment.

I think Ryan Russell is better as a LDE, but give Mike McAdoo the edge at RDE.

We need RDEs.

Benson Mayowa should make his debut this Thursday, but he'll need a shadow.

I don't know when we might see Charles Tapper.

We have bodies for LDE.

I'm hoping to find someone on waivers.

Be interesting to see if Kyle Wilber takes some more snaps at RDE against better competition Thursday night.

Jason Garrett was asked about Charles Tapper today and responded that he hasn't done a whole lot lately, taking his situation day to day, but it'd be nice to get him back on the practice field.

Degenerative discs can be repaired surgically. It does mean his season is over if it comes to that.
