There seems to be a general consensus that this isn't a Super Bowl team, but who is going to keep us from getting to the Super Bowl? The Eagles, Cardinals, Lions, and the Packers seem to be the teams in the way as it stands right now, with the Packers presenting the biggest challenge, IMO. I'm just not convinced a run at #6 this year isn't a real possibility.

Good point.

While it's not a given by any means.

There is a will in this team that I have not seen since the emmitt(determination) days.

If we get to 6 this year.... New York and New Jersey will NOT be able to deal with me! Lol

Funny, I was just writing up my impressions and you covered most of them very well. I'll list a couple of other thoughts below, I totally agree on Crawford, McClain and Romo.

Others thoughts -

Overall, it’s a young team that is good and getting better. Still not a Super Bowl team but they are doing a lot of things well. They really cutting back on the dumb mistakes like blocked punts and easy turnovers, and on top of that are starting to create turnovers. Its amazing that the team is 6-1 with zero pass rush, if DeMarcus Lawrence is the guy they think he is and Spencer gets back to his previous form, this is an entirely different (and better) team. This team is capable of winning in the playoffs. This team with two legit pass rush threats at DE is capable of going deep into the playoffs.

Parnell played fairly well, which is good considering this was only his second NFL start. There is no doubt about his run blocking and in pass coverage, he has a bit of the Flozell Adams thing in that he is so big a pass rusher ends up in a different zip code trying to navigate around him. He is also a guy that will pound a DE to the point that player isn’t as effective late in the game – and Parnell is already a fresh set of legs facing defensive players with a half season’s worth of nicks and bruises.

Excellent points that you and Fuzz make about Parnell. His potential for improvement may cost Free his job and solidify the OL even more.

Great to watch young teams improve every week.

Well if this team should be blessed to get to the Super Bowl it's played in NJ this year isn't it? Peyton and his receivers will have a hell of a time I'm that mess of a winter while we ground and pound. This team is built for this years Super Bowl .

You missed the Chris Jones hate that seems to be primarily based on one bad kick.

Jones punted well. The other thing people have to realize is he isn't going anywhere because he is Dan Bailey's holder. There is NO way the Cowboys will mess with that mojo.

I noticed Terrell McClain a lot. He built on last weeks performance and I like his effort. He has great burst off the line and was requiring a double team to contain. He buys into the bite scratch and claw philosophy that Garrett preaches. He helps on ST too. Hayden shows up late in plays due to hustle often and almost never when it is a poa thing.
up the ball repeatedly icing the game.

Wilcox seemed to not know what the call was on that crucial third down that they called holding on him.

Smith struggled and I have little doubt it has to do with his bum wheel. JPP quickness gave him fits. All the interior guys were inconsistent in maintaining blocks. Giants DL did a good job making tackles as Murray tried to clear the line. Parnell is a very powerful man. His punch has some serious pop to it and he likes to hit. Coach him up and keep the brain farts away. Rep rep rep rep rep rep rep rep. He needs to practice more than anyone on the team.

Another good review Fuzzy.

I also noticed T. McClain a lot and he probably didn't really play that many snaps. He was fired up and was in that scrum on the kick return to start the game.

I thought Wilcox was in great position on that play where they called him for holding. The receiver actually initiated contact by putting his hand on Wilcox's shoulder. Wilcox had his head turned towards the QB. I need to watch it again, but I thought he was in the right spot on that play.

My pet cat Parnell looked OK. It's obvious that he's not a fine tuned player like other OLinemen, but he has great raw ability. They ran right behind him often. I think more real game action is what is required for him to become a more fine tuned player. A guy that never played OL before coming to the Cowboys needs game reps more than practice, IMO. I really love seeing him just physically dominate on some plays.

Yeah, both McClain and Parnell played well yesterday. I think the fact that Marinelli has guys competing to be on the active roster (and even the entire roster, overall) is starting to motivate guys. Speaking of which, do we know yet whether Bishop cleared waivers?

I can point to bad kicks in three games STL, SEA, and this recent 43 yard turd kicking away from inside your onw 30 off the top of my head.
