I am not sure what i think about Garrett. I was expecting a radical change in terms of discipline with his talk about attention to detail and the obvious emphasis he places on it. Watching bad snaps, poor throws, spotty technique and the like and it has called that a bit into question. In the shortened off season ragged play is to be expected but I have not seen the fruits of said emphasis yet.

What i did not expect to see is the passion and drive that this football team has on display. Guys playing through injury and picking each other up across the team is jsut how this team is. It is so easy to root for.

i told myself at half time during week 1 that I would be happy with whatever outcome because on the road against a top AFC team to go into the half with a lead demonstrated to me that we could compete with anyone. Well after the last week with all the questions and doubt to go into the game and gut out that win with a guy going down only to have another guy step up to that plate, i have decided that I like this team no matter what. Thats a team out there in ever sense of the word.

I really like how Murray runs the ball. He runs tough and Catch's sofa scouting was wrong. He doesn't go down on first contact. What he does do is play smart tough football. He is physical in pass protection but he sets up and follows his blockers which in a way that I can see they might appreciate. He is going to grow with this young offensive line.

The defensive line was the most underrated contributor. I don't know whats gotten into Hatcher but his motor is nonstop and combined with his natural athleticism, he has started to shine. I do not think we can call it a fluke anymore. All through preseason and now two games is a compelling set of evidence. Jay Ratliff is back. His game is predicated on beating guards to the gaps. When hes at his best he can beat double teams to the spot. Well we are seeing that again.

Our linebackers are playing very well when not asked to play coverage 15+ yards downfield. That said its going to be very difficult to prevent James/Brooking or Ball from getting isolated when they share the field. You can only help so much.

Mike Jenkins seems more like two years ago. He gave up that TD but it was a great throw and its not like he was scorched. Overall solid play has allowed us to not completely be exposed on the corners.

The safeties must be doing something right because teams are not able to get downfield on us. Only reason I knew that Davis was on the field was because Billick kept on waiting for him to do something. Never happened and Sensy and Elam deserve credit for that.

Tyron Smith looks like an NBA guard playing perimeter defense with his ability to slide to mirror defenders. Absolutely amazing lateral agility. Oh and hes one tough SOB.

Kitna can still play. If Romo needs to sit a game or two then its not the end of the world. Even that interception he threw over the middle seemed to be a miscommunication between he and Witten. Reps fix stuff like that. I remember when he threw it it looked like a good confident throw. That touch pass to Austin in the corner of the endzone was All World. Best throw I've seen this year.

Oh and a final note. If you still doubt Tony Romo then you are dumb.

Fuzzy hell, crystal clear logic. Love the title man. Hope you keep it.

That's the biggest thing.

This team isn't going to quit, regardless of who's playing or who they're playing.

They don't back down, won't be intimidated, and aren't going to lay down anymore. Was evident by their play yesterday when they all saw Romo come back in the game. The entire team was lifted, and saw their leader willing his team to victory.

Someone on here said it best, Romo grabbed his helmet and was like "**** it, we're gonna win this game." And he did, almost single handedly, with all the odds against him.

That's the stuff that champions are made of right there.

Good stuff FuzzBeast!

Well written.

I like this team too. Really easy to pull for our players. Love how they rally around each other.

Spot on!

Nice post, fuzzy...

I think this team is finally learning not to take things for granted by wearing the Star.

When your fellow teammate goes down, someone else needs to step up, and someone did. You can guess who that was...but I saw several players do just that.

Jenkins does look a lot better so far, I agree, but he needs to play up in the face of his opposing receivers commensurate with his talents. He affords them too much space out there. I think all he needs is the confidence (something he had in 09 and lost last yr) to follow through with a more pressuring style. This will either force the QB to look in another direction, possibly away from his #1 option, or provide Jenkins with more takeaway opportunities.

There are many types of leadership and Romo's talents in that area have been questioned (IMO wrongly), but that very act was pure physical courage. Maybe it was the last piece in the puzzle Romo needed to become elite.

It's obviously too soon to say but maybe that was the turning point Romo and the team needed.

Cowboy football...

They play their butts off on the road against the Jets and almost won that game.

They go on the road and play the 49'ers from one coast to the other....and win the game? ;) It's not all Romo, citizens...

It's the Dallas Cowboys.

Great topic and even better thread title.

My theory on Hatcher is like most defensive lineman, when you know your efforts will be rewarded, it becomes easier to go all out.

Some of the looks are amazing and I think we only scratched the surface of what Rob is instilling in big D.

Here is what bugs the hell out of me...

When I try and see what this defense does, or should do? I'm wrong most of the time.

:laugh2:

I wonder what the other team sees....

:D :D

Catch's sofa scouting was wrong

We'll see. I'm still waiting for him to prove me wrong.

Runs high, poor between the tackles, gets injured, and doesn't have a lot of moves is what I said....

He hasn't dispelled any of that although I will say he looks gigantic compared to how big he looked at OU.

Yeah, I think Kitna did pretty well for coming into the game like that.

When a backup comes in, usually the game plan is adjusted to protect him. Kitna stepped in and started slinging it.

Kitna made a mistake and then bounced back from it with that TD pass.

And I agree, that pass was absolutely perfect. That pass and Romo's pass to Witten over the top of the defender late were so well thrown that it isn't even funny.

I think Kitna is a very good backup and if needed for a game or two with a full week of practice, I think he would drive the bus well enough to get a win.

Bro, you are not the only one. I betcha, he keys are simple but the movement and the disguises have had my head swimming, lol.

I have been wishing this forever. I remember one game against Peyton Manning where the D disguised and moved Ware around. We gave him fits and won the game. I was like this is the dawn of a new day and what did we do the following week? Back to lining up Ware in one spot and dropping him in coverage when the OC forced our hands.

THANK GOODNESS FOR CRAZY ROB, who is crazy like a fox. :)

Yeah, he's pretty big.

He's listed at 6 foot, 227. That's good size. I wonder if some of the difference between his look now and the look at OU is the pads. College players don't hit nearly as hard and if you have good enough speed, you can just outrun people.

Throw on some smaller pads and outrun them. In the NFL, not gonna happen.

Hey guys glad you liked it. just mental regurgitation.

With how Lee has transformed the LB spot I am eagerly awaiting Bruce Carter. He may flop but two physical ILB that can run and take on blockers would be huge.

Oh and Catch, at least you stick to your guns but watching him run especially between the tackles I saw a guy that played with lean and stayed low for contact but maybe if you keep saying it, it will become true!

I bet Kitna gets most if not all the reps in practice this week and if that is the case, I would think he will start.

Why telegraph if Romo can not or should not play

He sure does. Guess he decided he better hit a weight room if he's going to be a pro.

Way too early for people to be declaring that Murray has proved he isn't fragile, though. The guy missed all but one week of training camp already.
