Dear Mr. Goodell
Adam Jones said he wrote a 1 1/2 page letter to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and that he plans to send it tomorrow. Jones is sending the letter on behalf of himself to explain why he should be reinstated to play in the Week 1 of the regular season.
As it is now, Jones has been cleared to workout, practice and play in preseason games with the Cowboys. But Goodell will make the decision as to whether or not Jones will be reinstated for the regular season. The Cowboys think they will know by the time NFL rosters need to be trimmed to 53 players on Aug. 31.
"I'm feeling really good about it. I just (finished) the letter," Jones said. "It's a letter saying why I should be reinstated. It's my chance to respond. It will be public probably in the next couple of days.
I did it on my own. I got finished writing it (Tuesday night)."
Jones wrote the letter on his laptop computer. He's hoping the letter may speed up a decision on his reinstatement.
