Isn't he the linebacker many thought the coaches were discussing with the comment, "He's been dragging his *** all camp" aired?

Better to show up late than not at all, but I see zero chance of George making the roster.

Walden looks ready to help on special teams if needed there, that carries more weight in my mind.
If you're referring to who they called a bum all camp. MacMahon said in the blog that it was Tyson Smith.

Tough question... Walden (if I saw correctly) made the first two tackles on the first two kickoffs of the game, and we all know how our ST coverage needs all the help it can get. But George obviously rushed better.

George also came out in the '06 draft and has played in the CFL, so he has pro experience and should be expected to be ahead right now... But Walden could catch and pass him with more experience.

Tough call.

How has he looked in comparison to Walden this off season?

Walden had 2 tackles on special teams in the Vikes game. I think he makes the 53 this year.

He might have made the team, but The Man in the Yellow Hat will be taking him home soon.

I was thinking that last night that his name sounded an awful lot like "curious"....George.

I came away from this game wondering what the heck happened to Free at LT. He had some serious problems blocking on at least 4 or 5 plays.

LB Tearrius George is a monster. He just hit the quarterback on three consecutive plays. He was tranformed into DeMarcus Ware momentarily. He sack Brooks Bollinger and then applied pressure on back-to-back hits to force the Vikes to punt.

George was also a guy Jerry Jones actually raved about in the offseason. Surprised he knew who he was, but anyway he has stood out tonight. George also got off to a slow start in training camp with a knee bruise.

George wasn't expected to make the team, but he might now.

Hey Rick, the last time I checked Mr. Jones is the GM.

I think George makes it. You can never have to many pass rushers. With Spencer being injured it only helps him.

He is Kalen Thornton all over again, a preseason pass rush terror who would struggle if he had to play top shelf OL talent. The only question is whether he is better at special teams than Walden.

at least he is showing flashes unlike Walden. He will add depth for us our OLB is just Rogers and Spencer rite now.

3 plays in 2nd half of the last preseason game may look great, but it's not going to put him on the final roster. Unless he did much more in TC than we seen or heard about. I think it takes an injury for him to be there.

Oh, I agree that he looked better. Walden certainly did not do anything all preseason.

But he has the built-in advantage of being a draft choice. I imagine there would be a selfish reason to keep him even though he has not earned it.

Was he the guy who had three sacks against Seattle, made the team, then disappeared?

You might be thinking of Bobby Carpenter.

Actually, I don't remember who it was against, but yeah, that's the guy.

We will never truly know about Thornton because injuries prevented him from ever going against top shelf talent. I thought he would have been fine as a pass rusher if he would have stayed healthy. I had doubts he would have developed all of the skills necessary to be a good outside linebacker, but he was always good at rushing the QB at Texas and showed well against scrubs in pre-season.

George or Walden? Toss up at this point. I don't think Dallas will regret cutting one to keep the other.
