"Sometimes you couldn’t tell that you won with Bill," defensive end Marcus Spears said.

"They are different coaches with different approaches. Bill was more stern and wanted to get his message across and control what guys were doing. Wade gives you the leeway to either be a man and do your job and do what you have to do, or the other way around. '

And Spears said that if players do not perform under Phillips, Phillips will respond.

"When it’s the other way around," Spears said, "even Wade tends to get rid of you or find someone else to do it."

Spears with the quick save at the end to try and prevent the bus from running over his coach that he threw under it.

Spears threw him under the bus by saying Wade treats them like men? Please adding your own touch to it that is a bit much don't you think.

Wade rarely makes changes once the season starts and Bill churned certain roster spots all the time. So Spears was saying what he wanted without saying it out right

At least that is how you took it. Spears makes a comment of his own accord and you then come in to interpret it to mean what you think and your feelings isn't that about right?

It's shocking to me that people think Wade is too soft or whatever for letting men be men. It's even more shocking that very few of them can pull it off.

Not at all, given the current state of team, stories that are coming out about locker room antics, booing coaches, players late for meetings, bad practices, turmoil among players and coaches and coaches and coaches I find what he said to be very interesting.

Parcells (who I was no fan of) ran a tight ship and Wade seems to accept these things.

I find it to be a LARGE reason this team is so undisciplined.

I also dont find any reason Spears would say "even Wade tends to get rid of you or find someone else to do it." almost as a matter of fact when EVERYONE knows that cant be further from the truth. No player in Dallas fears his job and could recall the last time any player has lost this job for disciplinary or performance issues?

Wasn't there something about players being late a year or two ago? I kind of remember hearing that. Of course ol Papa Wade will take their lunch money from them, big punishment there!

Seems Parcells was to tough and the players could only take it so long and that Phillips is to soft ( no one will convince me other wise so don't try) that after a few years they don't bother to pay attention.

Look at Phillips track record. He reaches a peak and slides down quickly.
I thought he could stay at the peak a little longer with this much talent,
maybe he still can.

you are reading into it what you choose what fit your argument I can read I see what spears said I add nothing to it nor take anything from it to push my own view. He is describing 2 different men not claiming one better than the next. Anyone who has watched these 2 coaches over the years know that they are different.

The laissez-faire approach doesn't work with this team.

Patrick Crayton. Ken Hamlin. Roy Williams (safety). Flozell Adams. Brad Johnson. Possibly Orlando Scandrick (if you think he had a shot at right corner.)

Everyone else has either played good enough to keep their position or been one of the best in the league at their position. Hence the high expectations for this team.

That's one helluva post.

He basically said that if players aren't being responsible, nothing besides a reaction from Wade will have them toe the line.

Players can basically put just enough effort out there so that they aren't replaced, instead of always pushing to be better. Which is why BP was always riding players. Not because he was a big meanie who didn't care about their welfare. He just never allowed them to get comfortable until the season was over before starting it all over again.

Not to say everyone on the roster is like that. But I wouldn't be surprised if quite a number of them take it pretty easy.

:laugh2:I know, right? He wouldn't be able to get rid of anyone on the offense.

Jason Garrett is like Elliot Ness in that peace. Untouchable.

Dont waste your time reading quotes from players on the team. They know very little. Everything going on in practice and in the locker room is clearly laid out by posters on this board.
