Keith Davis talking to teams

Cowboys free agent safety Keith Davis is talking with multiple teams right now looking for what could be a new home. The special teams captain from Italy, Texas does not have any visits set up but hopes to have some real soon. Davis would like more playing time in the secondary and a couple of possible destinations could be New Orleans or Miami.

We missed "Killer" on special teams when he was injured last year. I hope we find a way to keep him.

What do you mean?

Keith Davis has busted his butt to stay on this team and plays his but off when given the chance.

I thought he played very well against Carolina too. We actually had a presence at SS.

Hes a hard working guy who does a lot of little things that add up as the year goes on.

A guy like Roy Williams who is way more talented is causing us to lose guys like Davis because of his big contract.

If he weren't paid like one of the top safeties in the game we could keep a guy like Davis.

We need to save cap space for all the big names coming up. The new ST coach will just have to find a rookie to take his place. Indy has been doing this for years now and we will have to adjust our cap management just as they have.

All the heart in the world doesn't mean Keith would play better if given the chance to start. All things being equal, talent is what defines his role on a team. Keith excels in limited duty and special teams...

I hate to lose this player--he is our only st consistant performer.

Pat Watkins, Justin Rogers and Carp all did well on ST's last year.

I agree but unless Williams has a great season next year then he is most likely out the door.

He isn't worth what he gets paid.

So we will lose both players eventually because of 1 guys contract being way to high.

Don't forget Roy Williams used to be the guy that other teams said they could play with 9 players on defense if they had him.

Now its seems like we need 12 guys with him.

This isn't about Roy to me. Not even interested in discussing it.

This is about Keith Davis and what he can do for the team. Keith has had several chances to prove his worth to the team in a regular defense. He hasn't done it. I appreciate his contributions to the team and hope the team can keep him for his ST value alone. But if he leaves, I don't think we'll be missing much from the regular defense.

Yeah but he never has got a chance to play his natural position strong safety except for in the Carolina game and he did one heck of a job.

Plus as we all know he is one of the best special teams coverage guys in the entire league.

One game doesn't warrant keeping a guy...otherwise the team would've kept Julius.

Julius just sucks, don't even bring that guys name up anymore

Davis, sadly, i rather have him back there than Roy, i thought Davis was goofy, holy ****, Roy is 10x more, running into guys, taking bad angles, tripping and falling, looking like a turtle out there chasing people.

Seriously, the knocking guys off there pursuit just kills me
