Hamlin had a better year than Roy. No question. But if you're seriously suggesting that Courtney Brown, Keith Davis, and Pat Watkins are better than Roy, well that's just plain old rdiculous.

Watkins could eventually be better at doing his job than Roy is at doing his job.

Personally I think Roy has 1 foot out the door already and Watkins and Hamlin are the future safeties on this team.

If it gets bad enough it could happen as early as the middle of next season.

I would not be shocked to see Roy get benched next year.

I think Watkins and Hamlins future are tied together. It's not impossible to think that they'll let Hamlin play out aother year deal...and then maybe go with Watkins next year.

Its just sad that one of my favorite players has been such a let down.

He was once thought of the same way as guys like Newman, Ware, Barber, and now he is fighting to stay on this team in the prime of his career.

i'll tell you why i think we could go the other way and be better

1) Watkins is faster

2)Watkins is taller, has more range, and is more athletic, which there for he can do better on deep pass plays, and match's up better on bigger WR's and could play the jump ball better.

3) dont say roy tackles better, i think last year proved he is just average

i know you will say, how is watkins better in coverage? simple 2 years ago against WR's roy can't keep up with, Watkins was,..... problem? He was scared of turning his head, and getting his hands up, which it looks like he over came that fear....

basically, we can't do no worse then roy, with Watkins, who is cheaper, and not so Goofy, and way more of an upside

don't worry, i use to love roy, but if i saw that he at least tried i wouldn't be so hard on him, just like Crayton, he tries, although he made a few bone headed goofy mistakes, i still like him, why? because i see the effort he gives, besides roy has just fallen off

Keith Davis talking to teams


Cowboys free agent safety Keith Davis is talking with multiple teams right now looking for what could be a new home. The special teams captain from Italy, Texas does not have any visits set up but hopes to have some real soon. Davis would like more playing time in the secondary and a couple of possible destinations could be New Orleans or Miami.
