Hamlin's status now in doubt

Is there a player on this roster that has dodged injury this year? Add Pro Bowl free safety Ken Hamlin to the list. He has a sprained right ankle and Wade Phillips said Wednesday morning on his radio show that he probably won't practice this week and he's not sure he can play Sunday against the New York Giants. Hamlin was in walking boot and got extensive treatment on Monday, not good signs.

Safety is a jinxed position this season. Roy Williams and Pat Watkins are on the injured reserve and Keith Davis suffered a knee injury against the Steelers. The Cowboys also don't trust Courtney Brown, but he has to play this week. He was inactive against Pittsburgh.

If Hamlin can't play, Anthony Henry could move to free safety. Cornerback Mike Jenkins (hamstring) is expected to return this week.

We were one of the most healthiest teams in the league the last 2 years-we should have seen this coming.

Yeah-it's been a roller coaster year-not just the season, but since the playoff loss to the Giants.

Hopefully by next year, the team has a low profile and isn't distracted, as the media punits will be in someone else's jockstrap.

This is really going to hurt our defense. The whole "QB of the secondary" thing is no joke, especially with Jenkins possibly playing, probably yet another new safety with Killa likely hurt, and Pacman being um, less than bright.

I just don't know how many Tra Battles and other scrap heap guys we can run out there and still play well.

Offense really needs to hold up its end this week.

9 of 22 starters that haven't been injured. Actually, it's more than 22 because we've replaced starters with other guys that have gone on to be injured. And several of those "uninjured startesr" have missed plays in game due to minor injury.

I don't think people realize we were down to our 3nd string SS. Now we're down to the 4th player brought in to play this position. We're down to our 2nd string FS.

That's it, defensively, though.

On offense, we're down to our 3rd string LG. Against Pittsburgh, we were down to our 3rd string HB.

2nd string Punter, as well. Missing Austin, and Hurd, as well. It's not pretty, for sure.

If it'll help, maybe I'll throw up a poll, so we can get an accurate number. Something to go along with the 50% number he threw out last night for something equally off the wall.

Like I said, my bad, and thank you for clearing this up!

No sweat. Their NT is Haloti Ngata and he is still going strong and a beast. None of these players were starters. Gregg and Yanda probably come closest to contributors and I would say Yanda is like Joe Berger, very little to any contribution. Gregg is a fair backup, not much beyond that.

Our injuries are happening to starters. Therein lies why it is harder to overcome.
