Cowboys minicamp report

The Cowboys began their rookie minicamp on Friday and here are some of the noteworthy tidbits....
* QB Richard Bartel has slimmed down. He has lost 30 pounds in the offseason and looked sharp during the morning workout. The Cowboys are high on the potential of the Grapevine product.
* Undrafted WR Danny Amendola of Texas Tech drew rave reviews from Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. Cornerback and first-round draft pick Mike Jenkins had trouble covering Amedola in one-on-one drills.
* First-round pick Felix Jones looked quick and has an impressive burst. Jerry Jones thought he looked very smooth.
* First-year player TE Rodney Hannah made a nice diving catch beating linebacker Alain Karatepeyan.
* WR Daniel Polk, a former Midwestern State QB, had a few nice moments in the morning practice. The South Oak Cliff product is trying to become the next Patrick Crayton.
* Jerry spent a long portion of the practice watching the offense.

Ah, its nice to hear football reports again, even if it is just mini-camp.

I am not sure to be happy for picking him up or be very worried about Jenkins who can't cover a FA WR.

Right now, I am worried.

Hannah was on our PS last summer; so that doesn't count in NFL eyes. Other PS players also probably attending this minicamp.

Right now, I am worried.

It was one on one drills, I wouldn't be too worried about it if I were you. Just like I wouldn't be overly excited about Armadillo D) yet.

The truth is DBs get beat, especially in one-on-one drills in practice. Those drills favor the offensive player.
