It is bittersweet for Williams, who saw the business side of football when he had to say good-bye to his good friend and mentor. “It’s kind of new,” Williams said during Baylor’s Pro Day on Wednesday. “I really don’t how I feel. It’s like my first time seeing stuff like this. In college, it’s completely different.

“He’s a good dude, and I wish the best for him. I thank him for the stuff he taught me. I felt like without him and Dez [Bryant], the first game, it probably could’ve gone downhill from there. Those two guys kept me in it. They taught me about their mistakes and overall different ways I can do stuff. …It’s kind of weird. You get so close to a guy and then, a year later, they’re not there. I really don’t know what to expect.”

“I have to continue on doing my job and showing them why they brought me here,” Williams said, “and it’s just going to be a step that I’m going to have to just suck up and do my job the way they brought me here to do. …Seeing [Austin] leave, it’s sad, but we still have to do our job to the best of our abilities.”

Williams and Tennessee Titans receiver Kendall Wright share a place in Waco, working out together under the direction of Baylor strength and conditioning coach Kaz Kazadi."I’m just here just trying to get faster, trying to just be a better player," Williams said. "Last year I started off slow and then started picking it up. Now, I’ve obviously got a year. I’m just trying to come in and start off where I left off and continue to keep building it up."

Miles did seem like a cool guy and I do wish the best for him. But from a football standpoint he needed to go a long time ago. Excited to see what TWill can do as a full-time starter.

TWill was the No. 2 receiver the second he was drafted prior to last season. Miles was an afterthought

You can always call or text him, Terrance.

It's not the same and you know it.. When a co-worker leaves, y'all start off trying to keep in touch, but it usually falls off after awhile, unless y'all were super uber tight.

There is a chance that Williams will be splitting plays with a certain Texas A&M WR

I like how candid he's being while still saying the right things.

Hope Austin hangs 'em up and lives happily ever after with the memory of being our savior in 2009.

Do not be surprise to see Miles back in Dallas for a small incentive based contract. He would be your # 3 or #4 option with TWill still securing the #2 WR spot.

why not. It's the New Cowboy Wayhttps://encrypted-tbn1.***NOT-ALLOWED***/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTnj6_r3-kq76UbfMfwgzqOxAPL0nMTITz9JsvxDQzeipdxCymeuw

No. Fan speculation has him linked to Carolina, but no media

I can see why that would be. They just signed Jerricho Cotchery and he is instantly the best WR on their team. I fully expect Austin to land there or back home with the Jets. Won't wish him well though.

Steelers would be an interesting landing spot, too
