The NFL Europe draft and player allocation process will take place this Friday, January 27, in preparation for the 2006 NFL Europe League season.

Players will be allocated from their NFL teams to specific NFL Europe League teams, and following that process, the allocated player draft will take place. The allocated player draft will begin at 9:30 am ET (2:30pm CET). At 2:30 pm ET (8:30pm CET) the free agent draft will follow.

You will be able to follow all the latest draft information on NFLEurope.com.

NFL Europe League training camp begins on February 6, and the NFL season kicks off on Sunday March 18, earlier than normal due to the FIFA World Cup set to kick off in Germany this summer.

Is there drug testing in NFLE?

If not, I'd be pushing for an allocation to Amsterdam

Anybody else besides Henson heading to NFLE from the Cowboys?

Crowder and one other player whose name escapes me right now.

Henson probably will be assigned to a team before the draft. The article wasn't clear on it, but NFLE has three processes for putting players on teams. First, many of the players allocated by NFL teams are assigned to NFLE teams. Then the remaining allocated players (those not already assigned to teams) are drafted by NFLE teams. Then any unallocated players are drafted by NFLE teams.

Last year, 19 quarterbacks were allocated to NFLE by NFL teams. All of them were assigned to teams before the draft.

Is it bad if he does not get drafted? (I jest) :lmao2:

I hope Henson lights it up!!

If Henson goes to Amsterdam, he'll be doing a lot of lighting up alright

I am curious how that works. I realize a team can assign or allocate players to certain teams. I even recall that most of our players used to end up on the Scottish Claymores. But I think that has changed where they get dispersed more evenly.

I would hope Henson goes to a team that has a good staff, unless of course we are sending David Lee over there to babysit him.

You know, thats exactly what I remember the process being. But was surprised when Henson said in his interview that players don't get to choose where to go to.

I am pretty sure Henson is being allocated to a certain team. Chad Hutchinson was allocated to a team by Cowboys, that much I remember.

Just checked the NFLE site out of curiousity.

Pray that he goes to Hamburg. They have a pretty good coach in Jack Bicknell and Sam Rutigliano (ex-Browns) is an assistant. Sounds like an excellent situation for him.

I wouldn't complain about Amsterdam and Andrus either....provided Craig Ochs doesn't go there.

NFLE, sounds like a place to give coach's some training too. Any good OC's from there last year ? Which team won the championship last year and who was their OC ?
