Wilson had to have gotten the 2nd year base wrong on Gachkar. The numbers only add up right if the base salary in both years is 1.0
1.2 + 1.0 + 1.0 = (3.2) + 1.0 + 1.0 = 5.2 with incentives added.

1.2 million bonus with 1 million playtime incentives in both years.

Year Base Salary Pr SB Cap Hit Play Incent
2015 1.0 million - 600K - 1.6 - - - 1.0
2016 1.0 million - 600K - 1.6 - - - 1.0

Incentives would have to be met to count against the cap.

These don't look like big value deals to me. They are approaching starters money.

A little bit, yeah...
Edit: Just had a thought that maybe this is the opposite of paying for "past achievements" philosophy and more of a "paying for what we believe you are going to do for us" kind of thought process...

Shoot. I have to admit to you, brothers and sisters: I started on the Thelonious Monk Ale and I am now riffing, but don't worry- if I keep this pace: I will stop posting within then next few hours whether I want to or not.

Any of these guys could be cut before the season with minimal implications if need be.

Gachkar is the better player by far and we got him on a nicer deal.

Well we would have burned a couple million dollars.

Deals aren't terribly cheap. But really not much greater than league minimum.

We must feel pretty comfortable in their ability to make the squad giving out 7 figure bonuses.

Please bring back Ro.

That usually is not how it works out unless they get beaten by Jason Witten who spikes the ball in their face and screams get this scrub out of here.

It's been tweeted that the first year cap hit is 1.6 like Gachkar's cap hit. There is a 2 million option in the 2nd year. To me it looks like a 1 year deal.

Not how it usually works, but thats why I said if need be. These deals are low risk buy low deals. If nothing else they are good depth and competition, but again very low risk. I don't understand why some people are so upset about these signings.

A big part is the fact that we decided to spend what little we were spending on a two down LBer like Brinkley. Gachkar at least can play special teams.

I understand the frustration with the lack of more impact players. I really do, but these guys aren't major risks and I wouldn't be surprised if 1 of the LBs don't make it out of camp though. If the team signs Hardy and re-signs Mcclain, these signings wouldn't draw the criticism they have. I think its frustration of not actually improving the defense in FA thus far.

I like the Gachkar signing. We might as well have inked Bradie James back right now with the Brinkley signing.
