Motorola says the Razr is upgradeable to Android 4. Now, the question is will and when will Verizon do the upgrade.

That is one reason I've been sticking with the Google branded phones. They handle most of the software on them.

I agree about the Samsung phones that I've seen. My Nexus One is an HTC phone and it just feels very high quality in your hands.

They said the Galaxy Nexus feels like plastic, but the textured back gives it a bit better feelings. That said, I hate plastic phones. The Nexus One has a very nice feel and has some weight to compared to the plastic Samsung phones I've held.

I dont know how quicky 4.0 will be ready for upgrade on Razr.

Either way, the Razr is a dog. Battery is weak.

I have read some reviews that their battery bar is in red in a short period time after a full charge.

They say be sure to have a charger handy, at home, in office in car etc..

Im no fan of the Razr. A friend of mine brought his new RAZR by me offise last week. It has a really nice looking screen but I wasn't to keen of the feel of the phone in my hand.

Feels like it could easily break. :(

I actually agree with most of what you said. Although I did like the feel in my hand. Still prefer it over Samsung though.

I hope the Razr Maxx improves on just the things you mentioned.

Also, the design seemed like a good idea but never fully realized.

The biggest complaint I've seen so far is that the battery ain't all that, and the sound is quiet.

Could you get inside the software and perhaps up the volume output?

I laugh at the folks saying the camera needs to be more megapixels to be a great camera for a phone. To people with any photography experience, hearing complaints about a phone's camera is like hearing about not enough peanuts in a turd compared to other turds. It's a junk sensor shooting through junk optics, get off the "wow, my camera is better than yours!"

I've heard the battery issue too, then I saw some review of a guy that said his lasted over 24 hours without a charge using LTE. If it last anywhere near that long, I'm good. My Nexus One lasts about a day with random use. (G3)

As for the camera, they say the Galaxy Nexus has a great camera even if it doesn't support a super high megapixel count. Most people don't even realize that it takes 4x the megapixel to double resolution. (ie, a 16mp camera doubles the resolution of a 4mp camera) The difference between 5mp and 8mp is nominal. It's the quality of sensor that counts. Especially once you really get into 3+ megapixel. The Galaxy Nexus has one of the better sensors for a phone / camera.

I haven't heard anything about the sound. I just wish the damn thing would get here. :laugh2:

The only complaint I've heard from my buddy is battery life.

We can't bring our phones into our lab so we have to put them in lockers outside of our spaces.

He will put it into the locker fully charged, by lunchtime it will be ~ 77% charge by then. This is while being idle.

If the locker is blocking signal, then leaving your phone on is causing it to spend a tremendous amount of battery searching for signal.

I told him about that.

But, we get a good signal from the lockers. Thus allowing us to check messages etc when we step out of the lab.

Some of our customers (actually, majority of them) are military. All the stuff I do is classified and on-site so we can't bring in any devices that can transmit etc.

Pain in the butt, but it is what it is.

I don't think the Nexus feels cheap at all. It doesn't feel as solid in the hand like the iPhone, but I find the build quality to be pretty good.

The battery life is a real bummer though. I hate having to plug a phone in to charge all the time.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Though, I just plug mine in at my desk (USB) most of the day so I never run the charge down.

On the weekends, I don't use my phone too much so I really haven't had charge issues there either. The only time I've really had a problem was when traveling.

Well, this is my first post with it and thus far it is quite. Considering I use my phone as my alarm, I may have issue with that.

I was referring to kapolani's post about the sound not being as loud as you expect with it's speaker.

So, I tried the Galaxy Nexus for about a week.

Decided I just dont like Samsung phones.

1. The build feels cheap
2. The interface is not as nice as Motorola phones.

So, I am trying the Droid Razr

1. I love the build. It feels like a durable phone. Kevlar back is cool but not a big deal
2. Its very much like a Droid X

With that said, I am getting my New Every 2 back.

Neither phone is worth it in my opinion.

There is a Droid Razr Maxx that should be coming out soon.

Differences between the Razr and Razr Maxx

1. Maxx will have removeable battery so you can get extended battery with double mAh

2. It will have higher resolution than Razr. The new Droid Razr Maxx will have a bigger 4.5-inch touchscreen HD display which will offer screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. In addition, it packs a 13 megapixels camera, and features improved Dolby audio. While the old Droid Razr has a 4.3-inch touchscreen Super AMOLED Advanced display with 960 x 540 pixels resolution.

Just thought I would pass this info along.

Compared to my Nexus One, I've got to agree. (about not feeling top notch)

That said, I like it except for one thing. I got a voice mail and hadn't deleted it before I switched my voice mail to Google Voice (voice mail service). Now that stupid voice mail notification won't go away heh. Checking my voice mail checks my Google voice mail, not the Verizon voice mail. I suppose I will have to call Verizon and get them to delete the Verizon voice mail.

btw, I don't use the Anddroid 4.0 launcher. I downloaded one that I like a bit better. (ADW Laucher EX) I got it for .10 cents when Google was doing the ten apps for .10 for ten days.
