For anyone that wants to increase the volume of their nexus, download the app called "volume +".

Done and it worked great, disable settings - sounds - music effects, if you are still having a problem.

Nice app.

Dola.

Anybody got an article or website that would help with the best settings for photo quality?

I've seen that the phone can take very good pictures but i'm having problems getting pix to come out as i would like.

So... What do you think after all this time?

I'm thinking of picking one up tonight or this weekend.

The three things that I've found bad are these.

  1. Battery life if you can't charge at least once during the day. (providing you use your phone often thoughout the day)
  2. The camera works great, but the panoramic app sometimes crashes if I make a large panoramic image.
  3. I prefer a launcher I got in the Google Market to the default launcher.

Other than those, I really love the phone. The larger screen make a huge difference.

Weird. My buddies doesn't do either of these. You make it sounds like they all have that problem.

The only thing he doesn't like about it is that some of the good apps aren't developed for ics yet and they don't work on the nexus.

I said "reports" didnt say all.

Also, I had one for about 10 days.

I didnt like the lag.

IMO the ICS Android 4.0 launched prematurely.

I've had mine since day one and it has never rebooted. As for the delay going from portrait to landscape. It takes about one second. That is about twice as long as the Nexus One, but nowhere near a deal breaker. I'm sure they will add some setting to adjust it in the future if it doesn't already exist. Saying "if it doesn't already exist" suggests i haven't looked and I haven't because it really isn't an issue.

As I noted. The only bug i've found is the panoramic camera crashing issue.

Picked one up.

Initial impressions:

- A lot more solid than I thought. Messing with a buddy's phone at work I thought it felt a little cheap. After playing with it a bit it feels well built. I always thought my iPhone 4 was too slippery.

- Love the screen. A big reason for my change to the Nexus - screen size. I found the i4 wasn't big enough for my tastes.

- Love the integration with Google Apps. My company switched a couple years ago. My i4 integrated well, but not to this level. Google voice is much better, duh.

- UI is smoother than I thought. It isn't quite there compared to IOS. I can perceive a minimal lag. It could just be my superhuman senses, but I do feel a lag at times. I agree the switch to landscape isn't quite as polished as IOS - it isn't a dealbreaker for me.

Going to miss FaceTime. My father always FT'd me so that he could see my daughter. I still have my iPad and will prob pick up an iPod Touch shortly.

Already found apps that allow me to 'sync' with my OSX machines. It isn't as painful as I thought it would be.

So far haven't found anything that makes me regret switching to an Android phone. This phone is definitely a winner. It also fits with my wanting to hack deeper into my personal device.

If anyone's not with Verizon and wanting the Galaxy Nexus, it just went to $99.

If you are with Verizon and due for an upgrade/new every X years plan, I bet you could throw a hissy fit and get the same price. At least that's what I'm going to try on Monday.

Let me know if you have any luck with Verizon giving you that price. I'm due for an upgrade and even have the extra $50 loyalty discount to go on top of the 2 year contract price.

I'm considering this phone or the new Droid Razr Maxx. The Maxx isn't running ICS, but the battery in it is HUGE and battery life is a pretty major gripe for me with just about any phone I've ever had.

Go to BestBuy.

They will price match. They price matched me twice within my two week period.

First for $199 then when Amazon started listing it for $99.

Unlocked and Rooted. Battery life isn't as bad as I thought it was. With moderate usage I can go for a day sometimes more. Bought a couple of extra batteries in case I'm not near an outlet.

Looking into writing my first app. I find it strange that you can't set location services for individual apps. It's an all or nothing thing. Don't like that implementation.

Overall, really dig this phone. Not as good as IOS in some aspects, but better in others. Don't miss my iPhone at all. I wonder what the iPhone 5 will be like. The wife is planning on getting that one so at least I'll be able to play around with it.

Best buy didn't give you any grief over using an online source to price match? I read their disclaimer and it said they don't honor online deals. You have to figure though, Amazon isn't some online fly by the seat of your pants Ebay storefront.

I spend obscene amounts of money there. I've always gotten price matches. Didn't know there was a disclaimer, but like you said - it's Amazon - they have to price match that.

They know me. I'm always checking out new stuff when my wife is shopping at the store next door.

It doesn't hurt to ask them about it.

I've found if you're not a dip**** and are friendly they will pretty much give you whatever you want.

That alone will get you far in life. I'll test out the theory on Tuesday.

I guess when you put it like that " >>>>>>>>>>> " then its not debatable?

LMAO

4.0 is good but it needs to be better.

There is nothing wrong with feeling that something could have and should have been more.

THAT is the case here with 4.0. Its not even.... oh, never mind.... lmao
