I thought it was a fair question.vta;3133410 said:

Ed werder said there are a sorry group of cowboys players who dont live up to their media obligations and he named them, barber, hamlin, kitna and marcus spears. He said they always sit their and give the media a hard time until they leave...
and yes ed went on about barber and his fumbling.
Then werder said he is the voice of the fan...lol......and that wade phillips and the players have caused all this trouble.
Oh well. ANother day and another day spent not talking about the chargers.
I think that I'm going to take up Yakuza Rich's tact of referring to Ed Werder as Mr. Blue Suit.theebs;3133640 said:Ed werder said there are a sorry group of cowboys players who dont live up to their media obligations and he named them, barber, hamlin, kitna and marcus spears. "Players who do not live up to their media obligations"? What a crock. The league or the Collective Bargaining Agreement mandates/stipulates that players should make themselves accessible to the media at certain times during the week. It does not specify that any player must prostrate himself for interviews which the media thinks is appropriate.
This is too much silliness. Certain elements within the media are making an outright mockery of journalism. No one can make someone else state exactly what they want to hear in a lockerroom or standing on a sideline. There is no legal obligation to do so.
The press used to strive on developing working relationships with athletes in order to get statements and/or commentary. Slowly over the past 30 years, it has changed to, "Sit down, shut up and tell me what I want to hear. And if you don't phrase exactly what I want you to say as a soundbite, I'm going to miss my deadline."
What gives???
I'm speechless.jterrell;3133746 said:It's even worse than that.
They have a media rep (Charean Williams) who actually files complaints when players aren't made available. Seriously?!? They were threatening monetary fines against Doug friggin Free for cripes sake. Doug Free.... If the media needs Doug Free to do their jobs they might as well admit they need a new profession, like flipping burgers at McDonalds.
It's so hilarious. I call DCF for instance some nasty name then call his Momma and complain he won't read my forum posts anymore. How childish is the media exactly? Obvious answer: VERY!
