both are on the last year of their contracts. of course Maye is on franchise tag and gallup on last year of his contract. we know we won't be able to keep Gallup, he will get his money. can he help us? yes. I think the offense will be better with him...but we don't need more points, we need back end help on pass defense in the secondary....

so perhaps this is a win win trade. Gallup to help jets and the young Wilson. give him a threat down field. and we get our secondary guy, the saftey we have been coveting.

both on one year contracts. so if we or the jets aren't happy, at the end of the year, they leave via FA. both teams end up probably with 3rd roudn or 4th round picks. there is a chance both teams may resign the players.

win/win?

I don't think he would be enough of an upgrade over Hooker to warrant trading such a valuable player for him.

Made more sense 6 months ago than it does now. A big reason why we are unlikely to make a trade is that at this point in the season it is very unlikely to move the needle

But I dont think Gallup for Maye would have been a bad idea at all back in March

Maye also has a legal matter that he did not report to the Jets. The only player I would consider trading Gallup for is Quinnen Williams because he would make our defense elite.

Maye is a good, not great safety.

He’s also 28, doesn’t want to be traded, and is scheduled to be a UFA at the end of this season.

If folks are so desperate to rid themselves of Gallup (for whatever reason), let him play out his contract, leave in free agency, and we’ll recoup a good compensatory pick.

How are the Cowboys going to bring in another top $$ FA? Trade for draft picks. Need to keep the roster young and on rookie deals as much as possible.

No thanks. We are getting decent play out of our safeties. I prefer getting a corner opposite of diggs. Gilmore could’ve been had for a 6th. That’s a badddd miss by the front office

Whether anyone likes the idea or not....virtually impossible.

Contract numbers just don't fit.
