Yes, he's lost a step, but my goodness, his route tree is horrible...so I partly blame McCarthy for not finding a few more routes for him to run besides streaks and comebacks (and the occasional slant). He can do more than that...

...and if he can't, then put Jalen Brooks out there for snaps, because he's got the size and hands to make plays.

If I were an opposing defense, I wouldn't ever roll a safety over Gallup. I'd leave Gallup one-on-one all game and take my chances. I'd use the safeties to double Lamb and shade Cooks or Ferguson.

He doesn't fight for the ball, this was the case pre injury as well to a degree

I can't stand his laziness not coming back to the ball on routes. There's no excuse for half effort like that.

Give those snaps to Brooks. He's at least a fighter who plays balls out all the time.
