Jalapeno Margaritas, home pickled crisp jalapenos stuffed with crunchy peanut butter, chips and Walt Garrison salsa and chili stacks. Alternate corn torts, chili, cheese, onions, bake and serve with jalapeno and lime infused sour cream.

I've tried a ton of jarred salsa because I don't make it for just myself and Walt's Medium is the best I've had. You'd think I wouldn't have to order it in Texas. And if you don't make your own BBQ sauce, I still do that, his is very good.

sandhill crane. some of it pounded with meat mallet and cooked like chicken fried steaks. other will be breast strips rolled around jalapeno and onion, bacon wrapped, bbq sauce and cooked on the grill (poppers). baked potatoes. salad, fresh rolls and heirloom carrots. bon apetit, zoners.
Awesome, they've only kinda' recently allowed huntin' those here in Az.( if my memory serves me well),,, I've never harvested one but I'd strongly imagine the flesh would be more akin to dark like dove than white like quail,,, & ,,, of a distinctly stronger flavor.

cranes are much easier to find on the ground than dove. and they can be dangerous. if one lands on you, there can be consequences. I actually had a hunting buddy who shot a greater Canada years ago. the dying bird landed on him and broke his nose.
So, they're dangerous after they've been shot? So what are they doing before they're shot that makes them dangerous? Dealing arms to the Taliban?

long, sharp beaks. actually, many guides prefer to go and pick up the birds after a round of shots instead of risking injury to their dogs.

SHRIMP!!!!!!!!! Did you say SHRIMP??????? The indigenous food of New Orleans and is that sausage Andouille? My God, man, you've committed the unpardonable game day menu sin!!!!!! DOOMED!!!! We are doomed by dinner!!!!
Egads lane!!!! Just slap all of that on some French bread and call it a poboy!!!!! Am I the only one here that knows of the IFC, Indigenous Food Curse? Gulf seafood, beans and rice and all other native foods of New Orleans must be avoided.

Y'all gonna eat Philly Cheesesteaks when we play PHL? Pastrami of rye when we play NY?

Ya see here, staff? This is the problem with restricting the Game Day Menu thread to day of, plans have been made, pots and pans put into motion and it's too late to divert a disaster.
OK, breathing a sigh of relief but lane, LANE is trouble. I can feel it.
You just talked me into gumbo

It's all I cook with. My grill is cast iron as well.
several years ago one of the local old timer ranchers passed away. his kids were having an estate sale. in his barn was a pile of old cast iron cookward. pretty rusty and dirty looking. I offered $20 for 22 pieces and got them all. cleaned up well. had old lodge, wagner, Birmingham stove and Griswold. they thought they had hornswoggled me.

academy sports still sells the 12" lodge for under $20. everyone should own one. I have a few of the le creuset dutch ovens, but they still don't sear as well as good old cast iron.
