So she is bringing me some pulled pork bbq sandwiches, the home made chips, and beef jerky from Buc-ee's. She always stops there on her way back. So picking me up my game day meal.

We're doing prime rib for NYE.... kind of a family tradition.

FWIW, I tried making homemade tamales for New Year's Eve. Unfortunately, it was a bust... they were rather dry and tasteless.

Yeah did not think of that. She is driving back from Galveston. The one she stops at is in Ennis, So she has a few more hours before she get there. I may add that to the list.
Ennis is about 55 miles from me.

There is a Buc-ee's about 20 miles from me , but in the opposite direction. Usually stop there on way back from WinStar in Oklahoma. Though I have not went there in a good 7 months.

I always marvel at those that are able to maintain cordial relationships with their ex's. It has been nearly 20 years since I divorced my ex-wife and she still prays something incredibly bad happens to me. So far, I have defied her prayers.

There is a place called The Vault like two miles from there. It is my go to when I drive from Houston to Dallas. I would put it just under Salt Lick

buccees cracks me up....we always go past them on our way from SC to FL....

Best beef jerkey in texas (that I have had) is from Roberstons (in saledo)...always stopped there when driving from dallas down to austin...you know of it?

He did it right. He asked me for her hand and then he got down on one knee. I'm 6'4 275 and I'm still crying... I'm so happy for them. I told them that I will pay for all of it, just like my dad did for me 33 years ago.
