You inspired me...i picked up a couple of porterhouse steaks (will sous vide to130 degreed and pan sear with a garlic rosemary chive compound butter)and will include loaded bake potatoes with sauted asparagus (but i will not be cooking them medium well as Coogi mentioned (that's ruining a perfectly good piece of meat).

Going for a classier white trash today.

It's a sunny winter day in NC, so I have a bone-in pork shoulder on the Big Green Egg since about 5 AM. Grabbed some mac to go with it. Making margaritas with the mixology set my mother gave me for Christmas. Probably switching to Shiner Bock when the hockey games start today. Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale is on tap in the garage kegerator once I run out of those.

It's available pretty much in every grocery store where I live, but only the flagship Bock. None of the other stuff. It's a cheap 6 pack as well. Think I paid $8.99 today for it.

I only drink it during football season though. Kind of makes me feel like an honorary Texan.

Tried and true beef stew: potatoes, peas onions, celery, carrots - and throwing in mushrooms as a wildcard (pun intended)...mixing in cornstarch to thicken the broth.
Buttered dinner rolls broiled briefly for a crusty top and bite.
Salad with red tip lettuce, ring-sliced yellow bell pepper, thin-sliced radishes, grape tomatoes, and pecans...alternating servings with blue cheese and vinegar dressings.
Also bought a 12-pack of Heineken - if I recall correctly- that was part of Jimmy Johnson and his coaching staff celebration after Cowboys wins.

Ribeye steak cooked over wood in my fireplace. Baked beans and out of the box Kraft Macaroni & Cheese.

Sloppy Joes home made with sweet baby rays on a sesame seed bun and a bag of BBQ chips will suffice. Wash it all down with h2o. Sometimes I wish I still drank alcohol. Only on game days though.

He did it right. He asked me for her hand and then he got down on one knee. I'm 6'4 275 and I'm still crying... I'm so happy for them. I told them that I will pay for all of it, just like my dad did for me 33 years ago.

Only problem is...what brides expected for weddings 33 years ago...isn't what they expect today!
