Game Day Game thread: Preseason Saints at Cowboys

I have 3 quarterbacks and 5 receivers because they can get Brown to the practice squad most likely. They need that extra roster spot on defense.
Why? I mean, who are you keeping who's going to make a difference on defense and not be inactive each week.

One of those extra defensive tackles. There are some good ones, and the rotation needs them.

They weren't very good tonight. I wouldn't keep Toia, Dunn or Withers over Brown. Plus, like with Brown, they would simply be inactive each week because there is no way with a 46/48 game-day limit that we are taking six DTs to games.

Yep, it's not that hard for them to do if they don't go with 10 OL, which I don't think they should. With 3 QBs and 6 WRs, I've got a 25/25 split between offense and defense.
I have them keeping 9 OL
And a 25/25 split also.

Dunns been flashing a lot. I’d keep him over Brown.

Yeah, I'm just not impressed enough with the backup OL candidates to give up another spot on the roster to keep a 10th one. I mean, I'd be looking for a veteran backup OT, but with the guys we've got, I'd go with nine.

I do like what I've seen from Keegan, Leverett and Cornelius, but not to to point of keeping all three of them over players at other positions. (As I've written elsewhere, I think we can get Leverett to the PS. I mean, he's be cut by three teams.)

I have them keeping Cornelius, and not Thomas.

I don't think we'll have a problem getting Dunn to the practice squad.
I don’t think so either. I don’t think we will Brown either. The Brown thing is weird. He will never get reps enough to matter. Unless they plan on trading Pickens or Lamb.

Can't see that one. We haven't even played Cornelius at tackle this preseason, so we'd essentially be going without any swing tackle who had snaps at the position. I think Thomas is secure unless we go find a veteran swing tackle.

He doesn't have to get reps this year. He will be one of the inactive players. You keep him because he has showed enough to get claimed. He might not get claimed, but he has played well enough to deserve it. I don't take the chance. I think he's worth developing. Once Mingo is gone next year, he moves up to fifth on the depth chart and would be one injury away from playing because we don't use Turpin like a regular receiver.

It means they need a new player.
Yeah, Thomas was the main reason Milton couldn't stay in the pocket tonight. He got worked on several snaps. I do think that is the one position where we may be looking for outside help.
