From the ESPN Power-rankings:

"Who knew the Oct. 14 matchup against the Patriots might be the Super Bowl preview? Facing the Rams and Bills (a Monday nighter) the next two weeks, the Cowboys should be 5-0 going into the game against New England."

What do you guys think? I hadn't even thought we could go 3-0, the idea of going 5-0 seem appealing but I'm far too pessimistic to think it'll be a cake walk.

What do you guys think about that game now that you've seen us against the Bears... granted, Brady is no Rex, he's not going to throw into triple coverage, but I'm actually feeling a tiny bit more confident that we can actually beat them.

I think it is going to be a very very tough game. Pats have talent on both sides of the ball and have the experiance of playing in the big games, I always felt that gave Dallas the edge when we were a Championship team. I do think we can win but would not be suprised to see us enter the game as the underdog.

Nobody thought the Boyz could beat the mighty Colts last year! How did that work out?

Screw the Pats...I think this team has the confidence that they can beat anyone, including hoodie and his Patsy monkeys!

The only thing to fear is fear itself!

Let the Cowboys get these next two game out of the way first....

I think we can win but I do think this Pats team is the best team in the NFL. I don't fear the Pats and as one players for the Cowboys said last season, we fear no one but respect them all. If we go out and execute we give ourselfs a chance to win but lets also be real and understand the Pats are no run of the mill team they have some very good talent on both sides of the ball and with Moss a known killer of the Cowboys this team will have their work cut out for them. I'm looking forward to this game.

I'm not...I'm looking forward to the game between the Cowboys and the Rams...then the Bills. As of right now the Pats are the least of my concern!

Our M.O. so far has been to play MORE physical and count the body bags of players that we are knocking out the game.

We need to bring that physicality to the Pats game. We have to bring that physicality right to Moss(and others as well). Have a safety over the top to close in on this guy when he is making or trying to make a catch. NO ONE, NO TEAM EVER makes him pay. He just cruises up and down the field... sometimes barely touched.

THAT has to change or we will be in trouble.

its silly to talk about superbowl matchups in september.

Dont buy all the media hype, particularly espn they will unfairly give praise to teams as fast as they are to pile on a team that is only temporarily struggling.

Let the season play out, week to week just like the owners and networks want it.

Anyone see a Sal Palantonio piece this week on how mcnabb is about to fold and be traded/benched and how the eagles are better without him? Didnt think so....Those guys particularly sal pal only show up to pile on.

So keep a level head. We are off to a wonderful start and if ellis, glenn and tank johnson are healthy and ready to contribute we might have one heck of a team by the time the Commanders role in here in november.

Just please remind yourself to not get to high right now, because there is always something coming around the corner that no one anticipated.

So far so good. This season has been fantastic so far though. Not only are we winning but we have players that I believe truly care about each other and are having fun. It makes it even more enjoyable when you have good guys to root for who play hard for all the right reasons.

I watched Pats game in person this week - When Moss was doubled Wes Welker or Watson or Gaffney were killing single coverage. Moss is almost damn near able to just beat you at the line and then flat out outrun you. He is so big and fast and just go gets the football. One of the all time great talents to ever have played this game.

Two comments in this thread:

1. Cleveland is still ranked too high for comfort!!! ;)

2. In case folks didn't notice, our old nemesis woke up in Philadelphia on Sunday. Until we beat them, it's only pretense and I'll include the Patriots game in that list. It's just too early for this kind of hype, even though it's to be expected for ESPN

Agree. Take care of the house (ie. Division) Its a long season. I'd love for them to make a statement to New England (and shutting down Moss), but if i had to chose I'd take wins over our Division foes first.

no matter what espn always talkin

ESPN gets slammed but they get the ratings and dominate sports programming. Heck last I checked there was Like 7 ESPN channels on DTV and they are all over radio, website stuff, draft stuff. They are everywhere.

This is a mega business and the ratings for ESPN are through the roof and its all good for football fans. Sprinkle in some NFL Network and Joe fan is not in Kansas circa 1978 with rabitt ears, a transister radio waiting to get the newspaper every day......to see a boxscore.
