I Can't wait till Sunday! All the talk is ended. No more vanilla. Dak gets to play a team with a game plan designed to takeaway his strengths.

I believe in what I see. It'll be one of the most shocking things I've seen, if he completely crumbles on regular season intensity. I mean the guy wasn't good in PS.... He was out of this world spectacular. Can the lifting of the intensity erase all the good that we saw from Dak? That alone, makes this the most intriguing opening day games since... Ever

The team: I believe in it. Too much talent to fail twice in a row. All the signs have been promising since the opening kickoff vs the Rams. The Cowboys are the one team were you can gauge what they'll be in the season by their preseason performance.

The offense looks explosive, only three first half punts. Remember 2007 when we lit up the Titans in preseason? And that carried over to the regular season. Remember 2008 when we were sluggish against the Broncos in preseason? And that sluggishness carried into the season. I told you, if you know this team(like I do), then you would know their preseason is usually in indicator of how the season will go. 2010 being the greatest example.

Remember the 9ers running all over us last year? Haven't seen that the last two games. Titans not included.

At this point last year, I had nothing but negative vibes. So negative, I couldn't watch the opening night game. I just didn't have a good feeling about the team(see risen Starr, feelings can go both ways)

This year is the total opposite. I believe in this football team. All the vibes are positive. Even when I look at that starting defense outside of T. Crawford.

It's our year man. In 2008: picked the Cowboys to finish 7-9

2009: win the east w 11-5 record and 1 playoff win and a punchers chance to win the SB

2010: on draft day, a feeling(see Risen) came over me that Phillips time in Dallas was up, the offensive line had gotten old, and this team was gonna suck: can't remember if I picked 7-9 or 5-11. But they were actually worse than I thought they would be.

2011: 11-5 and since I had a feeling there was dominate team, I though with Ware-Spencer and the rest of the DLine could get hot and make a SB run. Basically what the Giants did I thought it was possible for us to do. Thanks to Romo and Jason Garrett, they crushed what should've been my greatest prediction of all time.

Didn't have a feel for 2012-13

2014: 11-5. My greatest prediction to date. It's a shame we only got one playoff appearance out of Murray's time in Dallas. That's a real indictment on the coaches and the qb for that.

2016: 12-4 and they're going to play the Steelers in a SB shoutout. This team is loaded with talent and they will show and prove(although I think the cards and panthers may be to tough for em)

Cowboys - 38
Giants - 24

You think the Giants are winning anything with that serial killer looking head coach?

The Giants are in the wrong place at the wrong time. Cowboys have too much talent that's ready too explode after going thru a Bobby's dream(nightmare) season. It'll be closer the second time around, but this is the Cowboys notice to the league.... We're back

Dak shines
Dez beginning to best season of career
T. Crawford shows his worth
Witten contributes
Williams and Butler make big plays
Elliot and Morris have great per carry
averages and TD
Beasley beginning to a 60+ catch season
We get a couple turnovers
Game will be over at start of the 4th
Gary Myers eats his hat per usual
NY media gushes over Dak while ripping the Giants for making a rookie look like gold in non vanilla competition

That was therapeutic. Letting that out may keep me sane till Sunday!

At least the Cowboys fans who set the Vegas line agree with you.

These Giants games are impossible to predict. Throw in no Tony and I have no idea what's going to happen. I do think Coughlin's a better coach than he's ever been given credit for around here. He left some big shoes to fill, especially for a rookie HC early in the season.

I agree, so many unknowns in this game. How the Giants will react to their new HC. How Dak handles a regular season defense. The entire Dallas defense. Too many questions to make a good prediction.

But I'll try.

Dallas wins 47-2.

Dak struggles but has four would-be interceptions dropped.

Zeke bails the team out with 536 yards rushing and six TD's. In spot duty, Alfred Morris has 184 yards on 6 carries. Lance Dunbar runs twice for -32 yards before straining both hamstrings, a quadriceps and his groin.

The other Dallas TD is by Benson Mayowa. (See below).

Dan Bailey misses an extra point and has another blocked and returned by Shaun Crawford for the Giants lone score.

Collins has more pancakes than a starving student at IHOP.

Eli goes out in the third quarter with multiple strains to his facial muscles.

OBJ strains his groin trying to tackle Claiborne after an acrobatic interception.
Claiborne fumbles on the return, but Mayowa picks it up and runs it in for the TD.

Mayowa has five sacks in the first half. He is tested at halftime by the league and tests clean, but is given a 4 1/2 game suspension, because, as Roger Goodell will later say, "I just trusted my gut on this one."

Mayowa is replaced in the second half, in a surprise appearance, by Charles Tapper. Tapper has 2 1/2 sacks in his first series then strains his back and is ruled out for an undisclosed time period.

Between the two teams, there are a total of 12 groin strains, six hamstring pulls, and two lacerated labrums. Oddly enough, one of the labrum injuries occurs in Jerry's booth, believed to be caused by Chris Christie.

Goodell announces after the game that because of the injuries, next year no team is allowed to practice at all in training camp, just to make sure.

Thank you so much, I'll be here all week.

Cowboys Win 34-24
Zeke 142 yds, 2TD
Dak 21-26, 268 yds, 2TD, 1 INT

The INT will be blamed on TWill for short-arming a catch and fans will be angry wondering why Butler isn't out there in his place. Game not as close as score indicates, would have ended up as a big blowout if not for poor ST coverage and untimely offensive penalties, thanks Doug Free.......

289 in each game. Dallas had 430+ in each. They dominated them completely. 7 turnovers though.

as I posted to you in the other thread that means nothing. That giants team was a mess opening day last year. They lost will beatty their starting left tackle and had erek flowers starting at left tackle as a rookie in game 1, the interior of the line was not what it is now either. They had ruben randle starting opposite beckham and were figuring out their tight end spot. They now have Beckham, shepherd, cruz, harris and the two young speed receivers in lewis and king. They also have two pass catching running backs to go with this. The left side of their line from rich burg-pugh-flowers should be good.

then on defense they had marcus kuhn, merriweather, unga, ayers jr, akamura starting. They have upgraded each spot significantly.

They are going to give us fits on offense. That defense is going to make plays and we have to hope Dak keeps his head up and keeps going without a mental lapse.

I am kind of shocked about how little fans know about an nfc east opponent especially when the giants maybe one of the leagues most improved teams. they have a ton of talent.

Here let me save them the trouble. Williams and Butler play different spots at wr and butler has zero work at williams spot.

All depends on what we get out of our coaches. Patient running attack, Dallas wins.
Put the game on the shoulders of a rookie QB, Dallas loses.
All comes down to who can out coach who.
That's what I think. That's also why I have us losing. I think we go back to being conservative and scared, unlike the preseason games. It's just in Garrett's nature.

Why would you assume I don't know much about them based on me posting statistics from last year? If you think they've got their TE situation worked out I'd wager its you who needs the update. I do love the people who only have doubts in one direction but bend over backwards to give that benefit to their opponents.

Their tight end situation is not solved from the perspective of having a franchise guy but they know who the starter is going into this week,
His pass blocking was terrible vs the bills in week 2 of the preseason.

and I am not giving the benefit of the doubt to anyone, keep throwing that type of crap at me like i want Dallas to lose or something. I am simply pointing out people keep using these references to them being a bad team when they have vastly improve their talent.

if the roles were reversed and the giants were starting their 4th round third string qb and we just changed our defense the way they did I highly doubt you or anyone else would be saying their offense will go right through them. In fact I gurantee you most wouldn't.

this isn't about benefit of the doubt, this is about one team is a complete question on defense because of young guys playing, suspensions and injuries and the other team spent a summer preparing their new players and they got out completely healthy and ready to go and it flies in the face of this narrative I keep reading on here that they stink. This is a tough game. If Dak wins this one and can overcome the obstacles sunday the sky is the limit.

:) I accept the real deal in right to discuss...but on your tight end scenario, not a believer in the 2nd rounder coming back from injury? And the future return of the injured tight end with the fresh contract?

I'd say you're wrong about Flowers. In fact, I have yet to see a Giants fan on their board say anything about him other than he should be playing RT. He was bad last year, he's doesn't seem to take coaching well, and he's shown little to no improvement this preseason. Their fans are horrified that Reese did nothing to upgrade the OL or find a real LT and move Flowers to RT.

They are still figuring out their TE spot.

They have better receivers than they did last year, but frankly we completely shut down their offense in both games. They scored because we turned the ball over frequently. This preseason their offense has not looked good at all, and it's got nothing to do with scheme or game planning - they simply can't block anyone. Their TEs can't block a lick, their OL outside of the center is mediocre at best. And the further you move from the center the worse the players get, their tackles are both bad - well below average. That's why they couldn't run even a little bit in the preseason, their TEs and OL have simply been getting pushed back into the RBs.

They have made huge upgrades in personnel on the defensive side, but I have yet to see that actually translate to the field. Every time a team upgrades multiple positions with a spending spree in free agency they end up no better than they were. So until I actually see the Giants defense play well on the field I'm going to side with history.

You are severely overrating the Giants, and underrating our offense....

We ran on better fronts than theirs, last year, with Mcfadden

Zeke will have a field day on Sunday

not under rating our offense at all, being realistic about it with a rookie qb running it. Its his first start ever.

I have said i expect the offense to play well repeatedly.

Throwing out the pretend season on both sides and just evaluating where each declined and improved, looks like the Giants 27-16 to me as their defense improved and ours didn't and while their HC is new to the position, he is not new to the team or Manning. His release improved last season and if we do not blitz, he will have time to check out his other options.

Starting a rookie is always risky and he will have his struggles in the red zone with his reads and constricted field. On passing downs, the liability that is Doug Free will prove even more to be that. If the Giants can bring speed off the corner, Prescott will be flushed to his left too much. It is a good OL except in pass protection and Free is the weak link against speed. Got to stay out of 3rd and long. Dak is not the key if we are to win, beating 8 in the box is.
