I’m in growing zone 9 and I’m trying to grow watermelon indoors. Does anyone know which soil to buy? I know sandy loam but none of the brands say sandy loam. What’s a specific brand I can order?

Never heard of anyone growing watermelons indoors but I guess it’s possible. If indoors, the zone doesn’t matter. Just research optimal growing conditions for watermelons and emulate that. No brainer.

Lately I've been mixing top soil with some compost, you could also throw in some vermiculite to emulate the square foot garden formula in a 1:1:1 mixture. As always good trace minerals are recommended the brand I like is Cascade.

Any premade brands?
Depends on your area, for compost OMRI is better for Top soil I like the fluffy kind and around here that's Scotts in the red bag. You could also try organic potting soil that usually uses perlite which is similar to vermiculite. I also forgot to mention a homemade fertilizer that works well Rock phosphate-Alfalfa meal-green sand. It approximates the N-P-K in the chemical fertilizers but is better for the plants.

I ordered good dirt potting mix and Jones organic pant food

I've grown melons for years. Sandy loam is what I use to build up a mound. I can't imagine growing them inside. My vines reach up to 50'.

I plant 8 seeds. I used good dirt. I’m wondering if I should’ve added fertilizer. The soil already has nutrients but maybe I should’ve added it. Also, I’m not sure how much water I should’ve used. I out about 1 ounce of water on each seed. One is in a 5 gallon grow bag.

What kind of lighting are you gonna use?
