Garrett 2.0?

Anyone else feeling some deja vu?

Veteran QB, Franchise Receiver
3 Olinemen drafted in 1st round
Questionable defensive holes on Front 7
Hohum safeties

We just need a Demarco Murray!

Like the focus on the trenches but some of these guys have a ways to grow before I feel like we have another Tyron, Zack and TFred. 2 going into HOF. TBeard would have too if not for the illness. I’ll take CeeDee over Dez and Parsons over Tank but rather have Romo/Witten instead of Dak/Fergy.

I’m like most of you and will believe it when I see it. I’m done buying the hype machine. Looks promising but been here before, and with a better core for Garrett 1.0.
What “hype train” are you referring to? Every team is excited about their draft picks. I don’t get it.

Honestly it doesn't matter. This front office refuses to build a team that would dare to compete in the post season. It is intentional. A team can not solely get it's top talent from the draft alone. Even top talent takes time to develop, then there are the complete misses which happens. But there is no top talent signing to offset those draft misses. They sign cheap vets and they can help a little bit but they are not enough. Garrett 2.0 in some respects is kinda what this teams needs a little bit to keep some of these dudes out of trouble and away from uncle jerry.

I think a lot of the drafts under Garrett went well actually. To me, his coaching decisions cost us the 2016 season (a superbowl caliber team) and the 2018 playoff game. Garrett was just too risk adverse and didn't have a great feel for coaching in key moments.

Big difference with the veteran QB, one could turn water into wine as far as WRs go. The other needs seriously good WRs to throw to or you're getting squat.
False on all accounts here.

Tony had better receiver than Dak

Yup, HC's goal is to be a run heavy team. Why? So his injury prone and aging QB takes less damage.

lets see how the schedule breaks. If we open with 3 toughies and start the season 0-3....i know the 8 people on here that will be trying to find positives.

Garrett sucks!

Dak didn’t turn water to wine? Randall Cobb? Cooper? Gallup?

Romo had TO and Dez. But he turned them into wine?
Hmmm… in his one season here Cobb had 828 yards receiving, one yard from tying his 3rd best season and not eclipsing 650 in his previous 2. He never eclipsed more than 450 in the 4 seasons after he left.
Gallup had 1100 and 850 yard seasons before tearing his ACL.
Cooper had consecutive 1k plus yard seasons despite everyone moaning and groaning when we traded for him!

I think No-Schott is a more-qualified OC than Garrett ever was, but this team's free agent philosophy didn't change, so it's very unlikely the results will. ... And some will blame the coaches or our best players as usual, when 30 years of failure are all about the Joneses.
