The players should have been policing themes since day 1. They’re professional athletes expect ed to do their job, they shouldn’t need a babysitter or coach to teach them basic fundamentals at this point in their career. All this was, was the players finally policing themselves. And even if Garrett finally got through, it’s too far and few between. This type of dominating performance only underLines the type of team we really have and the horrid job Garrett has done.

Garrett has put them in situations to win games on several occasions this year and THEY didn’t do their jobs.
1 outa 50 ain’t bad.Why not? A 90 million dollar purse carrying punk diva who held this team hostage until he was over paid gets an appreciation thread for showing up in ONE game (mainly due to the O line) yet has lost us games and cost JG his job because he couldn’t handle the work load or hold on to the ball but JG continues to get bashed.
Garrett just schooled everyone’s favorite coach, one of the few they constantly reference when talking about hiring a new coach. Everyone can point to a few coaching decisions in each game that allegedly cost the team a win or loss but rarely to the players, especially fan favorites or golden girls like Zeke, get the blame. We were put in a position to win against NO (another coaching guru) and who cost us the game when it was on the line? Hint: it wasn’t JG yet he received the blame. Crucial 3rd down against the Bears, who took himself out of the game because he couldn’t handle the work load that he demanded to be paid for? Hint: it wasn’t JG.
Point being, like most games this season, McVay was out coached last night. The difference is our players finally did their jobs, pretty amazing what happens when they do what they’re paid to do, huh? I’m not saying JG should be extended, he’s been here too long, let him be the scape goat for another team, but lets give some credit where credit is due which isn’t a RB who demanded to be paid the highest at his position for doing his job behind the second best O line in the league a few times a season.
Can we just metaphorically end it for good? It was a nice win for Jason Garrett. But Jason "Garrett" Voorhees will pop back up. Next week or next month. The Rams were actually one of the hottest teams in the NFL coming into Dallas. We won b/c we were able to run the ball and Goff couldn't grip a football. McVay has already lead his team to a super bowl a feat that has alluded Garret his entire coaching career. So, Garret got him yesterday. Yay for us.
The problem is this: Do you have any idea which cowboy team is showing up next week? The one that played yesterday or the one we've seen that previous 3 weeks?

I apologize for every mean thing I ever said about Coach Garrett. The guy is the greatest since slice bread.
To manage games and put the players in a position to win. If someone make millions of dollars to play a game on national tv and needs help getting mentally prepared to destroy the person across from him then maybe they shouldn't be playing football or at least not for the Cowboys.Lol.....ok
why do players need a coach then?
Garrett is a joke. This win only proves that.
First, as I’ve said since the day we drafted him I will never stop my criticism of Zeke or his contract Personal feelings aside, I would say the same thing of any RB who sat out with 2 years on his contract and demanded to be paid the highest at his position. I would also laugh at any team dumb enough to pay a RB that much money, complete waste. You really need to let this go. It's over. Your posts are interesting, and you do make good point on other topics. But this Johnny One Note act of slandering Zeke at every turn really detracts from when you do have a point. Your point jumped the shark weeks ago. Do you still stalk former high school girl friends who stood you up to go to the prom with a pimply-faced kid named Jason?
Take a deep breath and move on.
Second, please show proof McVay was out coached. What can you bring but the final score that suggests Garrett did anything at all to influence the outcome of this game? His reviewing prior games and holding people's feet to the fire really sounds coachy, doesn't it?
But of all the games throughout all the years I have followed this team since Opie was promoted, this is the first time I have seen in newsprint Red actually using a technique to inspire and motivate. Now I know Jerry said the Clapper was going through OJT as Jerry guided him as a mentor to become a head coach. A laughable idea for both Jerry and Opie. But in the Jerry handbook on coaching, is motivation chapter 42 or something? You'd think as much as Red sucks up to college coaches in the off season, someone would have mentioned motivation in passing.
But if it takes him ten years to finally hold people accountable to win a game, maybe he doesn't pack the gear to be the head of the most expensive franchise in pro football history.
One last point. They dress 43 players on game day. When this team loses games, all 43, and all the coaching staff, and GM are responsible. Regardless of your personal vendetta against a RB on this team who doesn't even know you are alive.
I never said he was routinely out coached, I pointed it out because of how many people here reference him as a great coach. If McVay is routinely out coached, why should out coaching him be a feather in Garrett’s cap?
I don’t think they’re bad but I don’t think they’re all that. We didn’t lose 7 games all do to coaching. Garrett has put this team in situations to win this season and the players dropped the ball literally and figuratively and I’m talking about things that aren’t coached (speed, agility, power, etc).No doubt JG and Marinelli deserve credit for a great game. Maybe you can credit our talent as well. They arent as bad as they've looked.
