What about the Walrus he was not a Big yeller and he won a SB in Greenbay and got Seattle to the Super Bowl. Their is no magic bullet personality that wins.

Garrett need to be who he is not put on a act. Jumping up and down cussing does not make you a good coach

Schwartz is a tool. Maybe he's a good coach but I absolutely detest his attitude and his ego.

I think Schwartz's "attitude" is a major contributor to how undisciplined his team plays - weren't they second in penalties? Give me a coach who keeps his head on straight.

I like Schwartz. I think what he has done with the Lions is one of the most impressive turnarounds in sports history. He brought a team in a tough division to the playoffs without a running game and a porous/injured secondary. I think he does a good job of creating an "us against the world" mentality with the team. I could care less about a fight that never happened with Harbough. Football isn't a classy game, its a game where grown men talk trash and lay the beat down on each other.

Edit: But in response to the OP, I just want a coach who can get it done. I think the jury is still out with Garrett. I like how he cut a lot of dead weight before last season, it shows he can make bold moves.

There's a middle ground. You can be excited/fiery and not an idiot like Schwartz. Tomlin and Harbaugh come to mind.

They did have a lot of penalties this year. I watched every lions game and I can tell you some of those penalties cost them games. I think you make a good point bringing this up, Schwartz's style may promote more penalties from his team, but the lions are also very young across the board so I think that also has a lot to do with it. Guys like Titus Young, Suh and Pettigrew all had their share of bonehead moments. Schwartz tried to right that ship as the season went on with moderate success IMO (example benching Pettigrew). If you watch their defense the last few games they were much more disciplined (even though they were getting torched).

So coaches that scream, cuss, ec. win more Super Bowls? Or better yet, win them every year?

He's also a crybaby!

A little push and shove by a coach that wanted to congratulate him, and like a freaking fool, he goes nuts!

Yes, because Press Conferences are evidence of how he acts with his team.

Oh wait...

He is a first class Delta Bravo! His attempt to recreate the motor city bad boys pistons team nfl version is going to come back to cause the lions grief. Because of his sanctioned over the line play, the referees seem to give a little extra scrutiny, the league seems to be trying to reel the dirty play in and maybe most importantly....cheap shots in basketball may result in hard foul retribution. Big deal. Payback in the nfl can leave you with a concussion or a ripped knee. Case in point...bears game, fairley cheapshots cutler....megatron gets absolutely blasted twice. A coincidence? Or self policing?

Garret needs to show some more emotion, work the refs more. Tom Coughlin is a master crybaby.

Spot on, can't stand the guy. It's one thing to be a tough, passionate coach, but a little class doesn't go astray.
