We are going to have a real shot at winning in NY after the bye.

I like the timing of these changes. Our defense should be at full strength and poised to put on their best performance of the year.

And this should easily be our best version of a Romo-less offense, ESPECIALLY if Dez suits up.

This will be a huge game. We're definitely still in this thing.

Weeden sucking so much...uhm yeah. Everyone in the NFL knew how much he sucked.

Look at Pittsburgh. Less talent than us, but somehow finding a way to get wins without their starting QB.
Look at Indianapolis. Less talent than us, and are winning with a 40 year old QB.

What gives?

You speak with the wisdom of hindsight, Ben Kenobi. No wonder you get so many invites to Vegas... oh no, wait... that isn't you.

See how I combined Star Wars banter with a Star Trek emoji? :lmao2:

I'm glad Cassel's promotion brings a sense of hope to everyone.

I'll just sit around and wait for the "Cut Cassel NOW" threads which will pop up a few minutes after the Giants game.

He announced Leary winning out over Bernadeau. He announced Parnell would rotate with Free. I imagine the Jones were involved in those discussions too. Garrett has to deal with them no matter what. Things like this also are very important to the players. Who starts is huge on any team despite some famous exceptions. I don't think Garrett is as coy on the subject of who is starting as he is about injuries and how a competition is going before it is done.

You normally do these mental gymnastics for a reason. You trying to dissociate Garrett from Leary getting benched? You want to like Garrett but you don't like this move?

No, it just does not feel like Garrett SOP.

Collins should start because the Leary we saw against the Pats is not the Leary of last year.

Cassell should obviously start because he is not Weed.

C-Mike should get some carries.

I'm just always curious about the dynamics of how things function with the Cowboys power structure.

I would hope not especially with Gregory coming back.

I used to run into that putz on 6th in Austin back in the day. We got into it more than once. Personally.
I will say no more.

We didn't get along then, and I harbor no love for that stupid punk now. I didn't know he was doing media til three weeks ago.
What a low level these sport's networks are stooping to, to employ an obvious window-licker like Simms.

I'm glad I don't watch any sport's networks, now that I see who is being currently employed.
Who do they have on ESPN now? Don't answer: I don't want to know.

I'll filter my stuff through here, if you please.
Phil Simms or his son Chris Simms?

Why would we wanna cut Cassel after a win?

I just pointed out to you multiple examples of Garrett doing what you claim he doesn't in announce OL changes. I'm just wondering if this is your typical delusional pet cat approach or this newer phenomenon of letting sports radio do your thinking for you.

I don't think Garrett announced the Parnell rotation in a press conference until after it happened the 1st time. The media reporting something is not the same as Garrett announcing it in a press conference.

The Leary/Bernadeau issue was a beginning of the season issue and they normally announce the starters for game 1.

He didn't announce that Hitchens would start over Carter in weeks 12 through 16 last season.

He would not officially confirm during the preseason that Randle was the starter over McFadden until right before the regular season started.

I don't think he announced Cassel over Moore for the 46 even though I'm certain he knew before game day that it would happen.

He did not announce in a press conference that Waters would start over Bernadeau back in 2013.

You're really reaching to find an issue with something that I expressed as my opinion, not as a fact on a fairly trivial topic.

Youre missing the point. Teams are required to announce their starters. If you want to revisit the official depth chart announced before the 2014 season we can do that but it really shouldn't be necessary. Claiborne was the known starter the moment OScan went down. 98 at the 3 the year before when Melton got hurt. There was never any question in my mind that Randle was going to start this year seeing how reps and snaps were being divvied up.

I would ask you to prove a lot of these assertions because I also know that when they benched Carter for Sims we knew about it during the week. Reporters also get to see some practices. This isn't rocket surgery.

I won't deny that sometimes Garrett can be cagey but going from that to 'it has to be Jerry!' sounds exactly like the drivel I hear on sports radio all the time. That is not reaching. That is a direct link. You also comment on how you listen to it in your posts relaying information to us. You appear to listen to a lot of sports radio frankly.

What has likely happened is that he has told Collins and Cassell themselves that they will be starting. Reporters talk to them too.

He announced in his press conference that Collins and Cassel were going to start. He even went into detail about the tape making the decision on Leary/Collins and he went into a big diatribe defending Weeden.

He confirmed in his press conference a direct question. Like I said, he has spoken to the players as the press has also talked to Collins and Cassell. They have talked about their new starting roles.

I don't see the Jerry angle at all. You think he would try to hide it when both players would be taking starting reps for two weeks but Jerry and/or Stephen stepped in and forced his hand?

I imagine Jerry and Stephen are just as involved in everything as they always are and this isn't some special case. The meddling owner angle is a moot point in this town.
