These are big moves coming out from Garrett but biggest move yet is Gregory coming back. Eli and Bradford will fold under pressure. If we can get to Brady like that imagine what hardy Gregory Lawrence lee and McClain can do to them.

I agree but Dallas has to score points via offense. Also, the D has to create turnovers. The pressure they put on Tom Terrific only helped but so much because the offense did nothing with the opportunities they received. Eventually, with extra opportunities due to 3 and outs, Eli and Bradford will wear the D down and make plays.

What? Those were some of the prettiest punts Jerry has ever seen.

I suspect Jerry and the front office were involved in these decisions.......... yes I think they demanded Cassel start, and maybe lael too.
they evidently didnt demand CM start, cause he wont, just more carries, which could mean 2 a game.
A big problem is play design, that is why no one is getting open, and it is hard to find a open guy to throw to.

LOL! Dave, I'm laughing with tears in my eyes. I'm such a fan of this team that I am happy for Chris Jones potential Pro Bowl nod BUT...should I really be pleased that my favorite team's punter made the Pro Bowl. Sigh....

I wonder what Phil Simms has to say about this? Telling Cowboy fans to live with it. They won't switch QBs. Huh.

With Cassel there is a chance for a win, We Done would find a way to lose, 11 in a row doesn't pull any punches, that's an All-Time record.

Jason Garrett presser: we spoke with both Weeden and Cassel. There are lots of different reasons you make a decision like this.
we felt like going forward we wanted to give Matt Cassel an opportunity to get this offense going and team going going forward.
We need to do something positive for our football team, and this is one of the areas we think we can improve.
Weeden should be proud of the work he did for this team.
According to #Cowboys HC Jason Garrett, Matt Cassel will be the starting QB and La'el Collins the starting LG against the #Giants.
Garrett PC: the worse thing you can do on a football team is make it about the quarterback position. It's everybody involved, even coaches.
everybody has to win and do their job. No compensating for someone else because they're not doing their job.
Randy Gregory has done a good job staying engaged while rehabbing. He's a smart guy.
we don't anticipate James Hanna doing anything today. He's still rehabbing.
12-personnel has been good to us in the run and pass game, and James Hanna has been a big part of that.
we like LaMike & Isaiah Pead's versatility.
Joe Randle is still the starting running back, but we'll continue to play other running backs.

Jason Garrett says decision to change QBs was made yesterday.
Jason Garrett says it came down to trying to get the offense going a little more. They are averaging 18 pts and 315 yards last 3 games.
La'el Collins will start at LG, Garrett says. He told Ron Leary yesterday.
Randy Gregory expected on the practice field today, Garrett says. He has been out since Week 1 high ankle sprain.

Drew Davison ‏@drewdavison 3m3 minutes ago
Jason Garrett said the tape is reason La'el Collins promoted to starting spot over Ronald Leary.

Jon Machota ‏@jonmachota 4m4 minutes ago
Jason Garrett: Competition will continue at RB. No significant changes. Christine Michael will continue to get more opportunities

David Helman ‏@HelmanDC 4m4 minutes ago Irving, TX
Garrett: We wanted to give Matt an opportunity to be in this role and see if we can get our offense going, get our team going.
Cassel has started games in this league, has won games in this league ... We wanted to give him this opportunity.
Weeden took the news like a pro. He's a competitor, wants to play. But understands the situation, understands the reasoning.
Doesn't sound like there'll be any other significant changes. JG said the coaches want to improve C. Michael's role, but nothing drastic.
Garrett says he anticipates Randy Gregory will be at practice today. Not sure about the workload, but hopeful he can have a good practice.

Rob Phillips ‏@robphillips3 3m3 minutes ago
Garrett reiterated that the QB change to Cassel isn't solely about Weeden's performance. "It's a collaborative effort."

Chase Williams ‏@chasepwilliams 4m4 minutes ago
Garrett on QB change: "There are a lot of different reasons why you do something like this...Has impact on how team is performing" #Cowboys
Garrett on Weeden reaction: "He's a competitor. He wants to play...he took it like a pro" #Cowboys
Garrett on Cassel vs Weeden: "He's a more experienced player. hes done a good job(in career) Think everybody will benefit from it" #Cowboys

With the Giants on the horizon he had high hopes we would have to live with it.

Yeah that was strange. He was so adamant about the Cowboys not switching, seemingly wishing it to be the case. I dont believe anyone in the organization gave him any strong indication either way.

to be fair garret had two options after weeden, Moore who has 0 starts in the NFL and Cassell who has been here going on 3 weeks. Conservatively speaking, Weeden has been a starter and has won games at this level so Moore lost out. You though the play book was pared down for weeden imagine what it would have looked like for Cassell with 1 week on the team.

im sure cassel can panic and throw to a rb lol

It seems out of character for Garrett to make a definitive announcement about Collins starting over Leary at this point.

He almost has to make the QB announcement but he's normally non-committal on moves like the starting LG.

I suspect Jerry and the front office were involved in these decisions and Garrett didn't want Jerry telling the media that Collins was starting before Garret had said it.

He announced Leary winning out over Bernadeau. He announced Parnell would rotate with Free. I imagine the Jones were involved in those discussions too. Garrett has to deal with them no matter what. Things like this also are very important to the players. Who starts is huge on any team despite some famous exceptions. I don't think Garrett is as coy on the subject of who is starting as he is about injuries and how a competition is going before it is done.

You normally do these mental gymnastics for a reason. You trying to dissociate Garrett from Leary getting benched? You want to like Garrett but you don't like this move?

really? do you have any connections to the front office to make these claims? any inside sources?

did you read the sturm breakdown, where WRs would be open yet mr. weeden would not throw the ball (unless they don't have a defender within 10 yards of them). the play designs were fine. it comes down to execution and weeden should go back to college.

Weeden just wasn't getting it done, and he was living up to his history of being a loser, so I'm definitely in favor of him getting benched... And I'm hopeful for Cassel, whose had at least some success as a QB in the NFL, once upon a time... That said, Cassel's stats over his last 4 seasons in Minnesota and KC, they're pretty awful... Buffalo has a very mediocre platoon of QB's and they didn't want him, but then again Rex Ryan doesn't know what a real QB looks like...

I don't know, I'm glad it's not Weeden, and I'm hopeful for Cassel, but I'm not sure we shouldn't go with Moore or Showers... I mean we won games with Quincy, so there's something to be said for young and dumb working in short stints...

I used to run into that putz on 6th in Austin back in the day. We got into it more than once. Personally.
I will say no more.

We didn't get along then, and I harbor no love for that stupid punk now. I didn't know he was doing media til three weeks ago.
What a low level these sport's networks are stooping to, to employ an obvious window-licker like Simms.

I'm glad I don't watch any sport's networks, now that I see who is being currently employed.
Who do they have on ESPN now? Don't answer: I don't want to know.

I'll filter my stuff through here, if you please.

If we can pressure them to make mistakes and actually get the ball not inside our 20 every time we can make some moves. Fingers crossed

Moore doesn't have a single start and Showers was so bad in pre-season he couldn't beat out Weeden as the #2.
