I'm bummed about Scandrick, but I'm excited to see Patmon. Hopefully he sees his opportunity and grabs onto it. I'm ready for a new UDFA to become a Pro Bowler this year.

I kind of am, too. And I thought Scandrick was generally a really underrated player. But in the back of my mind, I did have some concerns that he might have been distracted with the stuff going on in his personal life. And it's hard to not want to see some of the young CBs play once they flash some potential.

I feel like I should be a lot more bummed than I actually was, and that it's going to come back and bite me later.

So your bar is set so that if the FO drafts or signs a player, they have to guarantee the player will never be hurt?? So with that, what player would we sign? Just curious, not just from you but any one really, what GREAT back did we miss out on in FA this year? Murray? His injury history is right up there with McFadden so if you wanted Murray back, you should not complain about the injury history of McFadden. But really, who did we miss out on?

Who said anything about setting bars? All I wanted this off season was to have a dependable, reliable runningback that can carry the work load. The backs we have now can't do that and are unproven to last an entire season. As for Murray this injury thing about him is overblown. Sure he was injured during most of his career. But that was because of his running style. Try and run McFadden like we did with Murray and he will break like glass. Besides Murray can handle the workload and was productive throughout his career here in Dallas. What has McFadden done lately? All that we have about McFadden right now is HOPE and PRAY approach that he can stay healthy. Because if he can't I don't think Randle can handle the workload either.

I don't get the obsession with the McFadden fans making excuses for McFadden's injury by bringing up Murray's name. I don't think there is any connection whatsoever with both players in regards to injury. McFadden is not Murray. If we treat McFadden like a workhorse he won't last the entire season. Thus it would have been better if we got someone here that is reliable, dependable and less injury prone. CJ would have been perfect but that opportunity is long gone. As far as I know, he seems to be doing well in Arizona. But it is what it is and we are stuck with what we have.

I'm not complaining about our runningbacks. I actually hope they do VERY WELL and surprise. Just that we could have done a lot better. But like I said it is what it is and this won't be settled until they have a few games under their belts.

Right. How do we expect to compete with all the teams without questions? The fo should be fired!!!

So you mean we should not try to get better in a position of need? That we should hand everything to these backs on a silver platter without any competition? You talk about competition with other teams but yet are against competing for the best personnel for the team?

I didn't say that the FO should be fired and to say that I said so is kinda silly. However, I have disagreed with them before and they were wrong. I agreed with them also before and I was wrong as well. The FO isn't perfect and we should not take their word for it as gospel.

If they can guarantee McFadden will remain healthy throughout the season than thats fine.

LOL

What kind of bizarre logic is this?

What team can guarantee ANY player is going to remain healthy?

If that's your threshold for determining when the FO has done a competent job, then you're going to be complaining for a long time bro. But then again, maybe you like that sort of thing? I dunno.

1. The point is every team in the national football league has questions / the cap sorta makes it impossible to not have questions.
2. I didn't say you said the FO should be fired. I said it. Only, I said it sarcastically.
3,. Been saying for awhile now that there were only 3 running backs that were possible upgrades to what the Cowboys have in the draft. They were all gone by the Cowboys 3rd pick; 2 of which were gone before the Cowboys picked in the 1st round. So, addressing that position would have meant no Randall Gregory or Byron Jones. I for one understand why the Cowboys picked who they picked...and considering Scandrick's injury, we should be happy that they picked who they picked.
4. At this point, the best move is no move. Here's why: Attempting to trade for someone else at this point means the Cowboys would have to over-spend to get marginal talent at best. Because anything better won't be available to the Cowboys,...of that you can be sure. The best they can do is wait for the final cuts and hope something falls in their lap. Otherwise, if they feel they are deep somewhere on their team, they could swap players they are planning to cut with another team that is planning to cut a running back to avoid the line in waivers.
5. No. The FO is not perfect. But I will still take his word over yours.

I'm starting to feel the same way. His neck is stiff but the rest of him is soft.

What's interesting is Scandricks level of play increased significantly once he started dating Draya

He averaged 12 touches a game last year, made it thru all 16 games. That's about what we will give him too I suspect, prob a little less.. 15 to Randle, 10 to Mcfadden and 5 or so to whoever the 3rd back is and a maybe a couple of passes a game. He will be fine. And you act like he decided to sit out.. maybe he was told to.. i don't know, but either do you. If he was held out of practice that is completely different that saying I can't practice.. IMO.

I know he didn't decide to sit out.

Thanks. Now if someone could just provide me with an example of a back-handed compliment, my day would be complete.
