Garrett Says Romo Is A "Real Leader"

BTW.. im pretty sure that was sarcasm you missed there lol.

Anyway, you can't believe everything you read in the media, because most guys are told what to say, and most coaches just give the company line. Do you honestly think any coach would ever say that their multimillion dollar franchise QB isn't a leader though? Come on.. lol.

The only people who really know for a "fact" how much of a leader Tony is.. are his teammates. The rest of us just have our opinions.

None guarenteed right, none guarenteed wrong. Its certainly debatable from some of the things he's said and done. Most feel one way about it, others question a few things. It could go back and forth forever. Better just to let the subject die.. its not worth another 30 pages of people using the same examples over and over again lol.

So then where are the insinuations that he's not a leader from the guys who really matter?

Apparently somebody has a guilty conscience.

Because I did not mention donations nor did I mention anyone by name.

If you do not like that I donate ...... who cares?

I do not expect you to support this website anymore than you do this team.

A guilty concience of what exactly? lol

I was saying that its nice that you donate here, but that doesn't give you a right to come in and insult and slam others opinions just because they don't agree with you. Calling people ignorant after acting that way is hypocrisy at its finest imo.

From all your posts, ive yet to see you offer any kind of valuable information to a particular issue or subject. You seem to live in some kind of fantasy internet persona where you think you are the official Cowboyszone troll slayer and this clearly means alot to you, because anyone who doesn't agree with your opinion is obviously just a troll right?

You believe that players arn't told what to say and how to say it to the media? There's no such thing as toeing the company line in the NFL? Or any business in the public eye for that matter?

Honestly, we've all had our say in this issue. We should just lock the thread down, because its gonna break down to *****ing and crying and insulting people and all that crap again.. when really we already know what each other is going to say. Not really worth my time.. there's other things going on with the 'Boys right now.

Really? Like calling people sheep and koolaid drinkers?

RoyTheHammer;3669534 said:
Funny to see how many sheep we have on this board, a week or two ago people were still screaming about how terrible he was and how bad our offense was with penalties and lack of production from the run game, etc.. now all of a sudden Garrett is a genius and will lead us to the promised land!

RoyTheHammer;3673223 said:
Funny how people were loving him last year but now that we're losing, oh he's so terrible. Sheep. They say whatever everyone else is saying because they have no clue.

RoyTheHammer;3686815 said:
Well if that many fans around here can be swayed by one press conference and no action, then i'd say we have alot of sheep around here. lol

Hypocrite.

I didn't miss anything. I wasn't referring to the flat earth nonsense. I was referring to his "The fact is" Romo is not a leader and the Cowboys won't win a SB with him crap.

Here we go again. "romo isn't a leader because I heard him say this or saw on espn that he plays golf a lot" give me a break!!!!!! You can see what type of leader Romo is just by listening to him talk. He's not going to yell and get on guys ***** like Peyton. He's not going to be all "gosh and darn" like Eli. He is who he is and he is a leader. He is a leader of men. You don't win 70% percent of your games as NFL QB without being a leader.

He might not be what some of you think in terms of leader, but he gets result. Only a few have been in the huddle or film room with the guy and my eyes tell me he leads those other 10 guys on the field with him.

Every QB in the game goes through this crap with the fans until he wins the BIG game. Once he wins the superbowl then he becomes elite and held in a different light. They said it about Elway, Young, all both Manning sons and a host of others before they won their rings. Romo will get his respect one day. He's one of the best rising qb's in this game. I'd take him and Rivers over everyone else in this game right now for the future. Even Aaron Rodgers.

Saying people are sheep means they follow something because others say it or think it.. you realize that right?

Calling people ignorant because they don't believe the same thing as you is quite a bit different..

Boom. It's like that. Good points.

I know there was thread (at least one) about how some fans feel Romo is not a leader based on some ridiculous speculation. Well here's what the head coach (who is a little more in-the-know about such matters) had to say about that:

"He's engaged with our football team," Garrett said. "He's in the training room getting his stuff done, but he's in meetings and really been involved. He has certainly been involved in the preparation leading up to a game and on the sideline during a game. That's an important part. He is one of the real leaders on our football team."

But, but, but Steve Young says he is not a leader.........

You also called them "know nothings" and that they "have no clue"..... how is that different hypocrite?

You cannot talk your way out of your post history.

Apparently Steve was only a leader 1 year out of his 15 in the NFL.

Again.. saying people have "no clue" and saying they are ignorant because they don't agree with you.. 2 different things.

Who's the real troll here btw? Im posting a reply to this thread and you just come in and want to start some sort of flame war with me?

If Garrett said the earth was flat, would you believe that too....What do you expect him to say...Romo sucks and we need to replace him?? The fact is, Romo isn't a leader and this team isn't winning a Superbowl with him at the helm!!!

Romo is the true leader on this team.

The NY Giants game proved that. Without him the team gave up.(even with a lead, it deflated them) They know exactly what he brings to this team, everyone on that team does. They know he is the reason for their success over the past 4 years. They believe in him, they know he will make plays and he has their confidence.

He does not point fingers, he, from what we have seen and heard leads by example in effort and practice habits.

If Romo is a rising QB he better rise quickly because he's not getting any younger..

That being said, he's already one of the best eh.. i'll say best 6 or 7 QB's in the league statistically. Don't know how much more he can rise.

People need to realize that there is a difference between being talented and being a leader. Tony has alot of talent, no question about it. And he's a good QB, no question about that either.

Romo is the true leader on this team.

The NY Giants game proved that. Without him the team gave up.(even with a lead, it deflated them) They know exactly what he brings to this team, everyone on that team does. These are all statements of your opinions unless your in that locker room with the team.

Going about things the right way and putting in effort and having good practice habits, does not make you someone that forces other guys to be better too though. Leading by example isn't leading if no one cares or follows. You can have an entire team of guys who "lead by example", meaning they all work hard and have good practice habits, but if they're all doing it for themselves there's still no one really leading.

That's all im gonna say because this thread is already getting out of hand again. lol sheesh..

You quoted me and started directing posts at me ..... I did not quote you or call you out.

Do not start crying now ...... I never mentioned you in my first post Mr. Guilty

Romo is a real leader.

He worked his way up from un-drafted free agent status to one of the most, if not the, most coveted position in all of sports. Not only that, he's one of the best and brightest in the game in the film room, practice, and game time.

IMO, people who complain about his leadership skills - or lack thereof - are looking for a false facade of leadership (screaming at players), rather than true leadership, which is leading by example.
