Sure, I have been a fan since before you were likely born, so get over your little hissy fit.

I stand on the statement that RHG is not a good coach at all. As for the direction of the team, I have to believe that Jerry's son has been a more significant influence than Jerry and surely Jason!

Does that really matter? We're talking about coach of the year. Coaches coach, the GM sets the roster. Do you have any valid argument that JG has not done a good job this year as HC, or are you just sticking with your argument that hes done poor in the past?

Really? He has been a mess since he got here and now he is coach of the year? Some indication that he has a better feel for the game than he has demonstrated previously, but (and this is a big but) he needs to have this team bring it home without getting in the way. The best thing he has done is hand over offensive calling completely to the coordinator and stay out of the way of the defensive coordinator.

Where is there evidence of him exerting influence over Jerry relative to the makeup of this team? I may have missed that, but I want to see information that supports that statement.
Do you think Garrett being coach just magically changed the way we drafted and Garrett had nothing to do with it?

I've given JG grief over his tenure here. This season he has done a flat out AMAZING job. I don't see any other coach being able to challenge him for coach of the year. Do you?
I will say that Garrett has done a great job up to this point and he should be a top candidate for COTY but there are 7 games left before that question will really be answered and there is not a team left on this schedule that scares me but to keep up that type of intensity week in and out will be tough but not impossible enjoying this ride though.

You think Stephen Jones is coaching this team? Lol. Seriously lol. Remember, and read this slowly -- this is a coaching thread.

If you want to take credit away from Garret, give it to Linehan. But Stephen. Lol!!

JG has been awesome, and I wanted him oh-so gone before this season started. Eating some delicious crow, thus far. He's been aggressive, creative, and has adjusted at half like a pro. Well done, Red.

Stephen Jones, lol.

He has my vote. And I've always been a fan. Happy he is our coach.

However, I remember when Jerry won Exec of the year.

Then the next year everyone called him a bum.

I won't be surprised when this happened to JG.

The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again.

This kind of stuff kills me. You blame the man when things go poorly but don't want to give him credit when things go well? Hypocrite.

I would challenge you as well as to how long you have been a Cowboys fan. I have been there since the early 70s. Can you say the same?

I've always thought he was a good coach who's getting better. The current win streak is evidence, but I wish fans didn't just judge coaches by their current records. The best coaching jobs aren't necessarily done by the guys with the winningest teams. Kubiak's doing an interesting job in Denver without a real QB. Andy Reid, though, is probably the guy I'd vote for right now. Garrett and Carroll also belong in the conversation. Belichick, of course, ought to be the guy the award is named after.

"The direction of the team" yet this is a coaching thread, ergo you think Stephen Jones is more responsible with the direction of the team as it pertains to coaching. Follow me?

You'll get labeled a troll here fast, let's see what else you got, cuz right now you're already getting tagged. And yes, you should care. There's posters like myself that will be all over you.

Was not a big fan of JG but the job he is doing with 2 rookies and a overachieving defense has been remarkable this year, I would have to tip my hat to him, he would get a yes vote from me.

Never been a fan of Garrett but I see a different coach this year. Maybe it is Linehan with Dak at QB or he finally got the perfect offense for him.

I give him his props, he is doing well thus far. I wont be anointing him COTY just yet though.......

Wow, a little uncalled for and hypocritical. He wasn't really have a hissy fit like this one. You have no room to pull rank here. Length of fandom also does not neccesilary mean more knowledge. In fact, you have been speaking in generalities, I.E.- "the coordinator", "the defensive coordinator", "Jerry's son".

Still not a fan...

I am not sure I would go as far as calling him coach of the year... I think Del Rio would be the guy IMO.
