It's going to cost us.

Jerry deciding who should be OC.

Just like Jerry deciding on HC/DC when hiring Wade.

I think this OC move is setting us back.
Question is... Do we recover this year or not?

The offense was no better with Garrett in control and he is still struggling with clock management even though that is one of his only responsibilities. I just dont see it working out for Garrett.

A lot of truth in this post. Jerry the problem. Garrett not the problem. Bill Callahan a downgrade.

No, we need to hire an offensive coordinator who has free reign to implement his own playbook. I've been impressed with Garrett getting Kiffen and Marinelli here. We need the offense version of that.

Garrett sucks as a OC. His system is busted and outdated.

He hasn't screwed up managing a game this year but that offense is garbo.

Shoulda' hired a offensive mind away from Green Bay...........their schemes seem to have WR's running free downfeild almost at will, Sure, Rogers is a notch above Romo, but our Oline is no worse and our receiving group across the board has similar talent.

I’m pretty tired of watching Garrett leaning over towards the field, smiling and clapping his hands as the team comes off the field, .. no matter what they just did.

Lose a turnover?, give up a sack?, miss a FG? have a 3 and out?, .. doesn’t matter, .. there he is, leaning over towards the field, smiling and clapping his hands.

Other coaches have the ability to come in and make a noticeable difference in a short amount of time. (Carroll, Harbaugh, etc.)

I really see no difference yet.

Look at what Harbaugh did to the 49ers .. they were mediocre for yeaaaarrss, just like the Cowboys. They hadn’t been successful in a long time .. he comes in and first year they go to the NFC Championship, second year he goes to the Superbowl, winning his Division both years.

He brought a new toughness, an positive winning attitude, .. totally switched that organization and team around.

I'm not a big Harbaugh fan or anything, and I'm not anti-Garrett, .. all I'm saying is the right HC can truly step in and make a huge difference.

We score one TD opening drive, and then settle for 3 field goals.. terrible offense.

This is the effects of the Garrett legacy. It was quite obvious for some time his system was holding this team back and way too predictable. The problem is, the OL woes were used by some to mask his ineptitude. But now the excuses are effectively gone, because the OL is at least doing a decent job in pass protection, yet the downfield pass still isn't there. This offense shows no ability to expose defensive mis-matches, i.e. it's all about some 'system'. What is more comical is that the system isn't even based on some sound wisdom. Additionally, the offense has reduced it's mistakes, which use to be the other claim why JG's offense didn't work and still, the same, exact problems.

The fact that this offense doesn't even take advantage of Romo's legs in boot-legs and WR match-ups like Dez in the slot and in motion is evidence enough of this coaching staff havin absolutely no clue what's going on. This is Bruce Coslet, Dave Schula offenses all over again. What a waste...

He didn't bring them here. It was most likely Lacewell, yes, that Lacewell who did...

Romo is and always has been a Sean Peyton fan. But I like that GB scheme too.
Dallas' offense has been far too predictable for years now and I think it handicaps the QB and caps the team's upside.

Having said that, this team is capable of making the playoffs even with what they are running now.

People were talking about the Garrett culture.. well folks, here is the Garrett culture. You've got the stench of 6-7 years of his influence, including his brother's passing game philosophy from last year. Claiming it's always the players, this team just plugs a player in with a new one. These guys seems to think that they are just brilliant offensive masterminds and it's the players that are bringing them down.

You know the sad thing is, Dez phenomenal last half of the season had nothing to do with finally adjusting to the system and everything to do with Romo and Dez doing it on the fly, via up tempo hurry up.

JG is still essentially running the offense. He just isn't calling the play. He however is scripting what the play is going to be before the game. The difference is pretty marginal.

He learned that from Jimmy Johnson.

It will always look much better and easier when you have a world class talent like Rodgers..The guy is a beast.

Actually, Garrett's philosophy isn't bad, his offenses are generally ranked in the top 15. The problem is personel, specifically no good runningbacks and a horrible offensive line. They haven't been able to run the ball since he's been here. Now another tease in Murray who showed enough flashes to make you believe for another year or two.

You can trace the downfall of this team to Parcells passing on Steven Jackson. From their they reached for Felix and passed on Rice,Chris Johnson, Jamaal Charles and several other decent backs. They're just chasing their tail, year after year.

I'm not sure. One, it's too early to say yet, but if I had to guess, I'd say that it's helped the team overall to have JG as HC only, but we also might have taken a step back at the OC spot. I'm not as big a fan of the play selection early this season. Hard to say how much of that is Callahan, and how much Romo changing the play at the line, but it doesn't feel like we're threatening teams deep very much, and that's with a full set of healthy WRs and a speed guy added to the outside rotation. Maybe it's design. Maybe it's Romo's ribs. We also should have been able to make the Chiefs pay a higher price for blitzing us than we did yesterday.

1) I'm not a fan of JG. Overrated as a an OC and horrible in decisions as a HC

2) It is early though to be jumping to conclusions. My issue is that I don't see much that is changed.

3) There are always built in excuses for JG...injuries, hadn't had a good O-line to help his offense, his decisions will get better, Landry and and others lost early.....fact is, some very smart and good guys just aren't great coaches. It isn't a sin.
