Garrett was asked, "Did you think the sun played a role.....?"

"I don't want to comment on that."

Only stadium not built North and South?

The answer should be...."Sun shines on both teams.."

Which is false. But who cares about the truth?

There is a black curtain to cover the windows. I remember it being mentioned in a broadcast. Why it isn't used I don't know. Why we have a retractable roof that is always closed I don't know. Why the new training facility is 40 miles from the stadium I don't know. I guess it's the Cowboy Way.

Sad that they have the curtains they use for the concerts and boxing events. Final Four also.

Who won the coin toss and chose to take the ball with a rookie in his first start instead of taking side of the field?

So, if I get this right, you wanted them to defer and let the Giants have the choice?

So in the second half, when it's our turn to make the decision, instead of taking the ball you would have taken the direction?

How much longer do we have to endure Garrett as our head coach?

I KNEW it - T. Williams had sun stroke! That's the only way to explain his lack of anything resembling coherent thought.

Maybe it's time for Jerry to tint the stadium windows (if he doesn't want to use the curtains that he reportedly has available.) I read today that it's the only stadium that hasn't been constructed with the windows pointing north and south.

He didn't sound too worried about it in his comments after the game.

I'm not surprised -- there's likely a fair number of things he should be concerned about that he's not or at least claims not to be. Players have complained about it in the past to no avail. Upon being asked about it after the game, Witten acknowledged that the sun affected his vision.

I thought the first half decided which end of the field each team defended for the game. Which is wrong.

  1. The toss of coin will take place within three minutes of kickoff in center of field. The toss will be called by the visiting captain before the coin is flipped. The winner may choose one of two privileges and the loser gets the other:
    (a) Receive or kick
    (b) Goal his team will defend
  2. Immediately prior to the start of the second half, the captains of both teams must inform the officials of their respective choices. The loser of the original coin toss gets first choice.

That means JG decided to take the side of the field looking back into the sun, in the 4th quarter at the start the 2nd half. The gist of my point was that JG blew the decision and should of known which side of the field was going to be looking back into the sun in the 4th quarter. It isnt the first time it has been a factor at the new stadium.

If what you are saying is true, than the Giants chose in the 2nd half to receive that ball. That means JG decided to defend the side of the field looking back into the sun, in the 4th quarter to start the 2nd half. Either way the gist of my point was that JG blew the decision and should of known which side of the field was going to be looking back into the sun in the 4th quarter. I am pretty sure in the second half the team without the choice gets the second option, so if the team with the choice takes the ball, then the other team chooses which side to defend. I know it's done to start the game and in OT. Can't imagine it would be different for the second half, but maybe it is.

You are right, I looked it up and edited my post.

Like I said my point remains the same. JG chose which side of the field to defend in the 2nd half and he put his team at a disadvantage by having them looking back into the sun in the 4th quarter. Big mistake in my opinion as its not the first time the sun has been a factor in the 4th quarter at that stadium.

Don't we have the option prior to the game of closing the curtains???

Agreed, but would it have been better to have Dak looking directly into the sun on every throw? It's kind of a no win situation either way. They should be able to block the sun on those windows no matter what. Would think the NFL would want to see a better situation than what there is in the late games.

I bet if Coldplay put up a stink about it, he'd get a double set of curtains.

I remember in the old Texas Stadium the visiting team's sideline was in the sun for most of the game, while the Cowboy's sideline was in shade. That was a real home field advantage, especially early in the season when it was warm.

I complain about a few things at the stadium, but y'all are really crying about the sun? That roof and end zone should be opened every game that's not raining.
