This team was actually more physical on offense under JG (2014-2018 in particular), believe it or not.

That's because Jerry took away the play calling from JG and made Callahan call plays in2014. When JG called the plays we were like 31st in run attempts multiple seasons. Romo bashers blamed Romo for this but this was not true since our run attempts went up significantly once JG stopped calling the plays.

I think he really wants to be known as a "football guy", but he just isn't. He hated having a Jimmy or Parcells here, real football guys who knew how to draft and build a team, it undercuts him. He would rather lose and have coaches who kiss his ***, than real guys who are honest with his decisions.
Jerry doesn’t make football decisions and hasn’t for years. It’s the Will and Stephen show. And Stephen is terrified of the cap

We do like to be pushed around...ever year in big games against better teams. And, the lack of speed in comparison is just appalling. Better teams always play faster than the Cowboys. That's why we always lost the majority of those games. They are playing 2x speed and we're at 1.5x speed.
And the cowboys think going smaller will make them catch up to that game speed

People clowning on Garrett but I remember his teams could run the ball and I don’t remember them being historically gashed like this game after game.
Every time a team got physical with the Cowboys under Garrett they pounded the Cowboys into the turf.
The Cowboys had a superior offensive line back then, but Garrett wasted it. He wanted to run a pass first offense and became one dimensional, making them easy to defend.
Those teams got beat because of bad coaching. This Cowboys team gets beat because they are soft and are more worried about their "brand".
Their "brand" now is soft. Too many self proclaimed stars, and no football players.
And now they don't have a real quarterback to keep them in the games. Dak chokes under pressure and the offense disappears until the opposing defense backs off.
It's going to get worse before it gets better.
If ever.

Former Cowboys coach Jason Garrett on @SNFonNBC on the Cowboys: “They’re not a physical football team. Everyone understands this about the Cowboys now. You have to go in there and run the ball. The last two years they were dominant at home. I think teams have found the formula. Run the ball, get ahead, and that’s what silences that pass rush. The Ravens controlled most of this ballgame because they handed it off and dominated the line of scrimmage.”
