Garrett may have a brilliant mind (seems like everyone says this, but I'm not sure why except its driven by the fact he went to Princeton), but he's still learning the game, and it has cost the team as a result. He may live up to the (maybe) unrealistic expectations in the future, but he has to put away his ego, which he seems to have a little bit of, and learn from others, no matter who they are. I think Reeves may have helped him, but I'm not so sure he wanted him here because of hubris.

a brialliant mind? We SCORED THREE POINTS. THREE! Against a TERRIBLE Commanders team we scored 7 and 17. That green bay team that just gave up 50 to the Cards.....how many did we score against Denver? You are CLEARY a relative of Garrets.

Yeah....it's garrett's fault that we moved the ball into Vikings territory and Romo fumbled twice and then throws a dumb INT and Colombo made Ray Edwards look like Reggie White.

Then when Flo went out all hell broke loose with Allen getting pressure. Garrett's fault also I guess.

Greenbay's defense played a bad game dude....they were a good defense this year...lol

1st and 10 from the 23....Felix had walked the ball down there without Garrett not having to do anything but watch the BRILLIANCE of Felix...but I guess Garrett was not having enough fun on that drive. So he calls a toss to Barber on 1st and 10 from 23....7 yard loss...drive over...game over. BRILLIANT!

I'm still of the opinion that Garrett will turn into a respected HC.Others are of the opinion that he is a complete moron. The one thing that both sides of the argument lack is the neccessary information to make an informed decision about Garrett one way or the other. We can only speculate by what we see/don't see on gameday or hear from the media. Now if we were privy to internal evaluations/discussions about the staff and all the other intangibles that come with coaching changes we could make better arguments for or against Garrett.I know yardage doesn't win games and points do but complete idiots don't rack up #2 offenses. On the otherhand you have to ask yourself why that yardage hasn't translated into more points.I think some of it has been execution(turnover/penalty) and some of it has been playcalling and misuse of player personnel.I also think that you can't give Garrett all the credit for all the yardage that they racked up,the players had to make the plays to get those yards.Same deal goes for the lack of scoring, the players and coaches each have a share of blame in that category.

You guys can *****, moan, and gripe till the cows come home. Fact is Jerry believes(theres a believe for ya) in Red Jesus and he WILL be the next HC. Take that to the bank.

Believe me, i have the same worries as some of the rest of you all. Can he command respect of both sides of the ball is the main concern. My concerns do NOT come in to play with Jerry and neither do yours.

Actually...you dont have a clue dude. You dont know football. That was a check-with-me-play.

It was a called pass in the huddle, w/a secondary toss/run called. If you go back and watch the play...Romo "kills" the pass at the LOS. Which then checked it to a toss run.

Stupid check on Romo's part. Not Garrett's.

If Wade is gone Garrett will be the new HC. Jerry has invested (money and time) to much in him to just let him walk away.

Never happen.

I don't think he has the respect of the lockeroom....especially the WRs and the defense. Heck I don't even think some of the coaches on the defensive side of the ball respect him. I really think they all see he was ANNOINTED as opposed to someone who earned it. He was made the highest paid o-coordinator in NFL history and I am sure there are players, much like there are fans...that cannot figure out WHY!

Is this based on some facts?

Now I must ask how you KNOW this.

I don't feel like bashing RJ today at all, and obviously I haven't been a big fan.

I do wish we would hire a veteran, respected guy to help him a little, someone both he and Wade trusted, in an advisory role. Obviously Dan Reeves was going to be that guy, but someone somewhere didn't want that to work. But the idea was very sound. Get someone who has been in the league for a long time and seen everything to help him out a little. The feeling I get is almost that Garrett's confidant is his brother, and he's very young just like Jason.

Surely some retired coach is out there who could just watch film with Jason and they could bounce ideas off each other. He could stay in the background so Jason doesn't feel pressured or threatened, if that's a concern. It seems like every so often our protection schemes break down and Romo is harrassed all day, just like in Green Bay. We need to shore that up somehow, and maybe a veteran set of eyes would help.

I think you're right CL. We can't be too sure what would have happened with Reeves but i think that would have been a very positive move for the team, especially JG.

The biggest problem i have with JG is that he doesn't seem to adjust well during games based on what the D is throwing at him, especially when we get behind. I think in-game adjustment is something that you develop and get a feel for the longer you hold the OC position. Reeves would have been very helpful in that regard.

Just a question? Isn't the line coach responsible for drafting up protection schemes? Maybe Houck retiring is part of the solution.I know he was top notch at one time but that was then and this is now.I'm just thinking that a line coach with 30+ years of experience should be able to identify why breakdowns are occuring at critical times.

You dont have a clue. Garrett will be the next Head Coach. I like him personally and he did an excellent job as our O-coordinator. We were a top three offense the entire year!!!

I like how you make things up that the players dont respect him!!! lol

Like you would know. What a joke.

Yes, but the entire scheme has to fit together well like a big three-dimensional puzzle, and maybe Garrett's has a couple of pieces that don't quite fit together somehow. That's where a third party might be able to point some things out.

I mean, it's not like the entire operation is a total disaster. It just needs a couple of tweaks.

To be honest -- and I hate to do this -- but I put some blame on Tony. Looked to me like he got awfully jumpy after he got pressured early. Sometimes there is going to be pressure and you have to stand in there and make the throw and take a big hit or deal with people falling all around you.

funny how the last 2 weeks everybody's hooping it up with the whole believe theory and after yesterday all is erased . It's back to all of the problems we have.

this team took strides this year and will learn from there mistakes. I do believe we need to tweak some areas and hope jerry will like he did last year

I agree. I never joined the "Believe" movement by posting a sig, but its amazing how fairweather our fans are. Im a cowboys fan and I hate cowboy fans as much as everyone else does. Not the real ones, but the bandwagon/fair weather ones.

I think Romo started out bad yesterday and by the time he started to settle down Flo went down.I think once Romo gets knocked around a few times to many "ghost pressure" will take care of him for the rest of the game.

You may be right about the protection not matching the schemes but you would think that people who have been around the game would realize that you can't put a square peg in a round hole.

I wonder how much of the problem pertains to lack of talent along the o-line? It sure would be nice to be privy to some internal evaluations and how the line grades out as compared to other units around the league.

With Barber on the field, WHY is that the checkdown play? Who called that?

Romo made the read that the called play wasn't going to work. Why was the option he was given something completely pointless with Barber on the field?

Amen. I was saying that same thing in another thread. I'd love to have some beers with Hud Houck and get his true feelings on the guys on his line.
