I guess in the end it was good that we didn't get the 2-point conversion. We would have gone into OT and anything could have happened.

Anyone else think it was terrible?

A great creator at the QB position and you limit him to one option by calling a fade to a WR with the dropsies?

It was a good call. It hit TO in the hands... he dropped it.

The face guarding by the CB (not called, obviously) didn't help matters, but he still should of caught it.

Fasano??

Personally, when I'm down to one play like that (a two-point conversion, fourth-and-goal or whatever), I want the QB to have as many options as possible. I'd rather roll him out one way or the other (giving him a possible scramble) and have at least two receivers from which he can choose.

Still, Owens vs. Greer 1-on-1 isn't a bad option. Had it not been a crucial play, I think they throw the interference flag. He had his arms on Owens and wasn't looking for the ball. That should be interference. But I didn't expect to get the call.
Personally, I wouldn't roll out cause that leaves you with far less options, and you must predict that they are going to blitz.

The fade was placed perfectly, Romo put the ball in the perfect location, it should've been PI, but they didn't want that to decide the game. Had he had no pressure, i'm sure he would've looked elsewhere.

The endzone fade is one of the most overused and underproducing calls in all of sports and was a terrible play call.

The best play calls the Cowboys have at the goal line involve playaction and multi-tierd routes with Barber Witten and Owens and a fourth scramble option that utilizes Romo's athletic ability. (See Dallas Cowboys vs. Tampa Bay Bucs Thanksgiving day last year)

I was telling my girlfriend that somewhere around the middle of the 3rd quarter when they were all up on Edwards' jock again. I told her I couldn't stand it anymore and muted it.

Of course, that didn't last very long. I can't do games with no sound. :)

I don't think there would have been enough time for something like that, the Bills were amped up and were bringing the house and something like that couldn't have developed quickly enough and there wouldn't have been enough people left at home to block anyone on that type of play.It was a good call in my opinion.

The first half I watched at a bar down the street from my house and at halftime I was ready to go home if you know what I mean, so I went home and would mute it then take it off mute and cuss them out through the TV then mute it again and did that for an hour and a half.

ESPN could make some money selling an audio channel with just game sound and no announcers. Make 'em good money, but bruise some egos.

Hey. Win all around!

So you dont consider Fasano another option ?
Aside from Witten, Owens, Crayton, and Barber/Jones ?

Well, if I was going to "take advantage" of one of our weapons, Fasano wouldn't be one of my first five or six choices.

Well it wouldn't really be a bad one to take advantage of. Of all our weapons he'd be the one most likely to be covered by their weakest cover man.

He could be like Dan Campbell was for us a few years ago. No one expects him to get the ball.

It wasn't a single call...the fade was an option because he had man coverage, so it was the right place to go, but Romo underthrew the ball....again...all night long he was underthrowing the ball, letting it float.

TO was open all the way.

It was face-guarding because he never looked back, and it was PI because the DB was on Owens before the ball got there.

The ball was low, but catchable, I thought he should have ripped it from the DB because it was such an important play.

But Owens didn't drop it, it was stripped away from him, .. there is a difference you know.

Turned out OK though.:D

I hate the fade route. The only time I have ever thought it was a great call was when Cris Carter was the target. The guy could just flat out run that route.
Me too. That and the quick screen pass to a wideout. The risk/reward of that play just doesn't seem worthwhile.
