Garrett's plan... gulp

My guess is if Cameron has Jerry bidding on him vs. Garrett, he'd come to Dallas.

Exactly, plus the fact that he would be the favorite to be the HC in the next year or two. Under Garrett, he would have to wait until an outside team wants him again, which could be some time after the Miami disaster.

Yup...I hate the fact that the NFL lets it happen. I honestly think this had more to do with our loss on Sunday then most think. How much game planning do you think both did, considering they are contacting OC and DC around the league trying to build a staff.

I just wish both would have said they'll wait till after the season is over, like the Pats guys did.

You mean Sparono and Garrett were interviewing for HC jobs before the 2nd Eagles game? Did they do the say before our season finale with the Skins?

In case you guys missed it, both Weis and Crenell, while they were NE assistants, were interviewing for HC jobs during the bye week in their '03 Super Bowl run. And Weis also interviewed(and accepted) the Notre Dame HC job in '04 DURING the reg season. And there's been several other assistants over recent years that interviewed for HC jobs during the playoff bye.

Why does all this garbage like this keep popping up? There were MANY reasons why we lost-first and foremost, our lack of disciplined, which we dodged MANY times in the reg season, came back to nip us in the arse this time.

GARRETT HIRE “NOT EVEN CLOSE”
Posted by Mike Florio on January 15, 2008, 1:44 p.m.

Despite reports that the Ravens have offered their head-coaching job to Cowboys offensive coordinator Jason Garrett, a source with knowledge of the situation says that the deal is “not even close” to being finalized.

Ed Werder of ESPN reports that Garrett is “60-40″ leaning toward taking the job.

Werder also reports that Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has told Garrett that he would match whatever financial offer the Ravens make.

But Jones should have moved more quickly to lock Garrett up, before the offers started to roll in. Heck, Jones should have gotten a deal done before Garrett interviewed for any other job.

Now, Garrett has the leverage, and he’s apparently using it.

Indeed, does anyone think that the Ravens leaked the news that an offer has been made? The offer surely was leaked by the Garrett camp, which apparently is trying to raise the stakes by getting other owners to the table, Jones included.

Though the only thing that yours truly might ever have in common with Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti is our country of ultimate origin, the notion that Garrett is trying to squeeze my olives would be enough to get me to pull the offer and move on.

A lot of other folks with last names ending in “i” or “a” or “o” would react the same way.

I disagree with you there. After the 1-15 season I doubt he'd ever get hired by the Cowboys. Norv was never that bad and Jerry passed him by.

You cannot judge Cameron on this season in that trainwreck.

Would you have judged Jimmy Johnson after his first season as a HC?

Well this makes me feel alittle better...but I'm not so sure money is going to be enough to keep him here.

If the negative things coming out of the locker room in Miami are true then yeah I would have.

There is a big difference between those two statements. The contradiction leaves me confused. UGH!

If I'm Jerry, I'm on the phone with Cameron right now to offer him the OC position if Garrett leaves. That's not a slap in Garrett's face, it's smart business.

If it's okay for Garrett to be out publicly looking for other jobs, then it only behooves us to also be on the lookout for his replacement.

Typical Garrett. Just bringing in guys he knows and worked with before because they're "Jason's Guys". Hey Jason, take your beloved Brad Johnson with you.

Ah yes... more speculation passed off as truth... I love the technique...

first claim that there was speculation, then present your speculation in the guise of truth... dupe them into believing your not speculating because the other guy, in this case Werder, did speculated...

According to reports, Keith Traylor and some Dolphin offensive linement got on a fight on the Dolphins team plane coming back from a gameand Cameran just sat in his seat and watched them. Joey Porter then called Cameran out in a team meeting for being a coward, and Cameran didn't say anything back. That's supposedly whe he "lost" the team.

I don't see Jimmy Johnson handling it that way.

i dont know if he wants to go that bad let him. Chances are in this league , today. The ravens will be a rebuilding process and will have several (2-4) losing or at or near .500 before they will have the pieces in place to make a run. he will likely get fired by then after the team would be expecting some instant results. they have no oline. 1 decent old receiver. no qb unless troy smith can pull a romo. defense is old but good still. just had a down year.

if they get garret he has to trade us ray lewis for ayodele and a 4th haha

A good reason why he's a good Coordinator and not a HC.

Well, I guess he would know what to do with Miles Austin...

"Coach, isn't that illegal?"
"What are they gonna do, put you in football jail?" :lmao:

You and I could be coaches but it still comes down to the players making the plays.

Yes, that's why we're here posting on message boards.

You grossly underestimate the value of good coaching.
