Garrett's Predictability

That #1 offense completely fell apart the last 3-4 weeks of that season if I'm not mistaken.

Wade Phillips was the head coach. :)

I should have put a disclaimer that of the idea of questioning a 1st year head coach scares you, annoys you or fills you with a hulk-like rage, please move on. :laugh2:

Thanks to the few of you that actually considered what I was trying to say instead of preparing your response before you even finished reading the thread title.

Maybe, but the percentages quoted are from last year, not the preseason.

I don't trust Bleacher Report's numbers.

Irving has stated many times that the offense of the 90's were predictable as well but couldn't be stop. That deals with the execution of the play.

WHO??

Sure it's preseason, but against the Denver we had similar issues and then last night :

Could've stopped right there. And seriously, you're blaming a bad decision by Romo on the formation????

Can you guys stop saying "Sure it's preseason" or "I know it's preseason" before every post? It makes me want to punch my monitor every time.

Sure it's preseason, but I wouldn't have to pay for your new monitor or your insurance deductible. :laugh2:

Some you really must have flunked reading comprehension on your SAT's, huh?

Go ahead and punch it.... that way you won't have to read this tired old crap!:laugh2:

On Romo's pick, it is almost a certainty the Chargers knew what we'd run.

Well, we did practice against them two days in a row before the game.

It's a play JG probably ripped off from Norv. That's why the Chargers' were so familiar with it.

Glad to see so many of you think it's a non-issue.

Why are you busting on the play call anyway?

It was an awful decision by Romo, nothing more. He had Bennett open, and didn't see him.

The thing with play-calling is it's not black and white. You can't slam a play call simply because it "didn't work"

And that fact that he threw an int to Weddle, in practice too and I'm not sure but I bet it was the same play too.

There have been some problems with two formations but we have no idea whether that is because the defense is keying on it and/or its poor execution. That's something for Jason to solve in both directions.

Still a poor decision on Romo. He just didn't see the safety. Stuff happens. I don't see the offense as being a critical problem for the Cowboys although I take nothing for granted.

The defense is the critical problem for the Cowboys. And the CBs are the major puzzle.

might as well say it again here: it's preseason and we were missing our best wideout

I'm not "busting" on anything, the percentages are from last season and they cropping up AGAIN in this preseason.

The concern is legitimate, whether some of you refuse to look at it objectively or not.

But hey, if some of you guys are willing to fall back on "Hey, our offense was ranked X" after another meaningless season that ends in embarrassment, be my guest. Burn your statistics to keep warm through another long winter.

Thank you.

It's hard to tell which is which, but from what I could tell, the Romo pick was executed correctly, wasn't it?

I think the overall execution of the play was correct. I think Romo didn't see the safety and either look elsewhere or take off and run or throw the ball away. The INT is on Romo not Garrett. Almost certain Tree was in the right place.
