Since 2004 its been all Witten ever since,, hard to believe but true.
Had a rough spell between Novacek and Witten.
Experimented with Bjornson, Lafleur, Harris, McGee, and Campbell in the dry spell between Jay and Jason.

I don't understand how this staff can't find 8 plays for him to learn to perfection and use him in the red zone only. He can be taught to block in theses 8 plays as well as be open for the pass when its his number. 8 damn plays and build from there. An idiot can see that this guy is a mis-match to any DB in the league... LB too. As Ive said... run down, turn around up, jump up and catch the ball.

The legend won't get a better opportunity. With written gone the only players that stands in his way are Jarwin, Swaim and Schultz. If he can't make his mark now the legend was no more than a daydream.

It is possible that Gathers could end up being another casualty of Jason Garrett! When Garrett decides who he wants to be the starter they lock everyone else in the closet.

They have been doing it for 20 years and none of the players ever see the field. They just don’t seem capable of developing them into football players or devising plays for them. I don’t think Gathers is a great NFL TE but I certainly think they should be able to create some two TE red zone packages where he doesn’t have to block at all.

What was so smooth about him? Great hands, but you can tell he isnt good yet at route running. Its like he is just tapping his feet to do it.

others teams are not running teams, taking a round peg and putting it in a square hole would be stupid. Rico has to show he can fully play the position and Dallas has given him time to learn and develop. He has a total of 8 catches in 2 seasons of pre season football vs 2nd and 3rd string players so excuse me if I question his over all ability. I hope he does great and prove himself but to act as if the staff is stupid not to give him a roster spot is insane, he has to go out and prove himself and that the Cowboys will give him that chance the rest is Gathers
