Dak has struggled with this type of D. We are going to have to be patient with methodical drives.
I think you're holding onto a two year old narrative with this. Dak has lit this defense up for the most part this season. Especially after the 49er game. At this point I really don't think it much matters what the defense does, if Dak recognizes it he's going to beat it. The only chance any defense has is to disguise their coverage well enough that they make Dak uncertain about his reads. If they come out and just sit in one coverage all game long Dak will have 400 yards and 5 TDs at the end of the game. That's why the pre-snap motion has been so important. It forces the defense to show at least the concept of their coverage and once that's done it's on and poppin. The Packers defense is not as good as the Lions. And remember if not for CeeDee's bobble Dak should have had 3 TD passes against them. The Packers are also a bottom five run defense and that might be the reason their pass defense is ranked higher than it really should be. Teams have lined up and rammed it down their throats. They gave up 2181 yards on the ground at a 4.4 ypc clip. Compare that to the Cowboys and their allegedly horrible run defense which gave up 1910 yards at a 4.2 clip.
Oh and of course the other way to slow Dak down is consistent pressure by beating our o-line. But even that hasn't stopped Dak in most games. Dak was sacked at least 4 times in 4 games this season. The Cowboys went 3-1 in those games and Dak's WORST passer rating of the four was 107.9. In other words, he doesn't crumble under pressure. As long as the receivers get him a sliver of daylight he can fit the ball in there, even when under heavy pressure.
The bottom line is the notion that this cover 2 shell is still some kind of kryptonite for Dak and the Dallas offense has been disproven time and again. A great pass rush, lockdown corners and a DC who disguises well can slow down any passing offense. Ours included. I'm just not sure the Packers have any of that.
