GB is a heavy Zone/Shell team on Defense

The big difference between this game and several other teams that play heavy deep zones is that Green Bay really isn't that great in the secondary. This is a game I fully expect Dak to go for 300+ through the air, even if it's not a ton of 20+ catches. Where Green Bay is really good is up front. If they can get to Dak while consistently rushing four it's going to be a tough game, but that goes with anyone.

The eagles have thrown zone at Dak time and time again and he shreds them. I've beat the drum that you should play zone against dak rather than man as much as everyone, but let's also not overrate that concept.

The biggest challenge we have is if the offense has figured out how to attack shell coverage consistently. The entire league has decided to limit big plays. The bills (to my eyes) played a TON of cover 3, cover 4 and cover 6 and dared us to dink and dunk....and we didn't. It's hard to decide to take those check downs and run shorter routes when you've been so successful being vertical. It's like choosing to have dry January :D

Dak has struggled with this type of D. We are going to have to be patient with methodical drives.
I think we improved a lot against the zone. where we struggled is against teams that created pass rush with their front 4. not sure if GB can do that without blitzing or additional players. we are a good offensive team against the blitz.

Prescot has grown up a lot this season. He's been very patient in the pocket, even when he's been under extreme pressure. No, I don't think GB is going to show up with anything Prescot hasn't seen in the past. I look for Dak to be cool, calm and collected for this game! What scares me the most is our defense and the prevent crap that Quinn calls at times during the game. This defense doesn't play well at all when Quinn tries to rein it in put a bit in their mouth, he needs to let the horses run, hard and fast, sit back and enjoy the show!

The dak struggles against teh zone narrative is dumb and has been debunked over and over again.
Exactly. It comes down to pressure on Dak.

You give him enough time and he'll find a reveiver.

Luckily, they aren’t very good at getting interceptions

That defense can be had, just keep them honest with some form of rushing attack.

The Packers have only forced 18 turnovers all season, with 7 of them being interceptions. Dallas forced almost that many interceptions (6) in NFC East games alone.

Hopefully this isn't the equivalent of the announcer jinx, but Dallas should be able to take care of the ball if they take what the defense gives them. Avoid a repeat of the San Fran game at all cost and hope that they adjust accordingly to the Bills game results.

Thanks, I was just going to ask, why do some say he struggles against the zone.
That is as weird as saying he can't read defenses. I mean he did not read them to the point as to be considered an MVP candidate.

Dak and the offense will shred Green Bay. They just don't have the corners to cover Ceedee. Just keep feeding it to Ceedee and this game will be out of reach. Don't need to get fancy.

Their D is as bad as the Eagles. Heck Carolina put up 30 on them.
CD should be a YAC monster this week.

Bryce young went 23/35 for 312 and 2 tds against that defense 3 weeks ago. No reason our offense shouldn't be able to move the ball up and down the field at will.

Aaron jones is what scares me about this game. I still don't trust our rush defense and he has the speed to take one to the house on any given play.

Best case scenario is what the Cowboys offense did to the Rams defense earlier in the season.

I did love that swing to Dowdle that we ran back to back last week. Where has that been?!
I loved how we came right back to it after Dowdle dropped it. McCarthy was like that play would have been big, run it again.

The key is giving him a long time in the pocket or rolling out. Either one. But he's got to have 4 to 5 seconds to feel comfortable with separation.
Otherwise he holds the ball

The more interesting story is the very real issues that Love has vs man coverage.
He has the largest drop-off from zone to man in the league...or at least that's what I heard on the radio.

He also has a bigger drop than normal when pressured.
Unfortunately, his o-line only gives up the 30th most pressures in the league...so, like Dak (29th most pressures) he's very well protected.

I think the Rams have improved dramatically since mid-season.....not so sure about Green Bay.
Their pass D is respectable, but their run D is suspect.

Yes, Dallas should be able to move it vs Green Bay.

When on offense, if the Cowboys can successfully block Kenny Clark and Rashan Gary, they should have no problems moving the football. If they struggle against those two, it will be difficult for the Cowboy passing game. Joe Barry is not a good defensive coordinator, so there's nothing scheme wise that should worry anyone - it's winning those two matchups that are key.

Not concerned about Preston Smith?

GB does not have a strong run D. Gave up almost 2,200 yards, 125/game, 4.4 yards per carry, ranked 28th in the NFL.

We need 35+ minutes in time of possession with Pollard and company leading the way. Keeping GB offense off the field and out of rhythm.

Their secondary is bad besides Alexander. Lamb and Ferguson need to be moved around and in the slot and we eat them alive.

Only thing we struggle with is if the other Team overpowers our Line in pass rush with only 3-4 men.
