Well, that's just silly.

I can't see Jones making a draft day trade like this one and then, standing pat and using the pick on a FS next year.

I'm hoping that Pat Watkins has a very good year (despite Hamlin) and makes sure that we don't have to draft a safety that high.

Agreed that looks like a stupid idea, I have quite a lot of faith that next year Jerry will either bundle up to get McFadden if JJ doesnt pan out or QB if Romo doesn't and if both of those work out this season I can see him taking a WR and a LT. From their projection looks like next year could be quite a strong draft to find a franchise LT and then a WR lower down.

Surprised Cleveland projected as low as 6th round pick & no way we use it for a FS. If Hamlin/Watkins doesn't show they quality starter, we'd use our own pick later in the draft to take care of that problem. The high draft pick we acquiried is to get best RB available and/or best WR. If that not possible or just as good talent available few picks down/up, I certainly expect Jones to make that move.

I am hoping Cleveland ends up with the worst record in the NFL and we win the SB.....1 and 32....

If nobody shines in our eyes, we can trade down and get a extra picks....Then take that 32, and hopefully find another team foolish enough to trade a future first rounder......someone like Oakland or Houston...

Ideally, right now......#1 RB McFadden, trade #32 for a 3rd and 2009 1st....

I thought I was done with mock drafts for a while now. Arg.

Not sure who is going to break out next year, so noone can predict. College teams have players who don't get much playing time until their Senior/Junior year. Way to early to guess. Also, guessing draft order is difficult, never know how things turn out.

I'd love to see their 2007 predictions at the end of 2006 draft.

Not saying we should make that pick but Kenny Phillips is possibly the most physically gifted and talented safety ever.

seatle is not going to the superbowl and that is not how the regular season will not go that way at all no way giants go father than us in the playoffs, and who will be the back-up when Donavan gets hurt.

so let me get this straight....he has us being worse than we were last year? He has Seattle in the Super Bowl? I don't need to read anymore of this. I would love to look back and see what everyone said about us after we loss in 1991 to the Detroit Lions in the playoffs. I guarantee you that NOT EVERYONE was blindsided by what we did after that. Young teams lose playoff games. That is how it works when you build through the draft. I am confident we will be alright.

That is a lot of offenisve linemen projected to go in the first round next year.

Limas Sweed will not be a first rounder. He is a good athlete, but not a great one. He also only runs two routes, the deep fade and the deep post. You have to do more than that to be in the NFL.

And in the NFL they don't allow the grasping facemask-pushoff play.

We've done a lot to address the OL, but if we have the opportunity to draft a franchise tackle w/ the Cleveland pick, we should definitely pull the trigger.

I like Kenny Phillips, but CB should be more of a priority.

Looks like a pretty weak draft for WRs. We should've played to this year's strength and kept our 2nd to take a WR.

What??? No Slayton in the 1st! He may not be an every down back, but anyone looking for a poor man's Reggie Bush, this kid won't disappoint.

Cason, the CB from Arizona, is defintely someone to watch. We could also go for Sam Baker who could step in for Flozell Adams year one.

Of course, if Julius Jones leaves via free agency, RB could be the pick.

As far as mocks right now, how many of us or any of these draft websites had JaMarcus Russell, Jamaal Anderson, Adam Carriker, Amobi Okaye, Joe Staley, and Anthony Spencer in their first-round projections? ..and Russell was the top overall pick.

If Cleveland starts stinking it up and that pick looks to be very high it should turn those of us not already college football junkies, into very interested observers.

Go Cowboys and Go whoever the Browns are playing!

except that we have TO, glenn, crayton and (2) strong prospects in austin and hurd. we draft a WR who goes? since we don't NEED one right now, why push it when the one we wanted (gonzales) simply isn't there?

i'll agree next year could be a year we need a WR to step up, but hey - we've now seen darrell jackson and randy moss go for 4th round picks. i'd have given up a 4th for jackson had i known.

those deals will be there if you look. we just didn't *need* it now and i think we did a good job of covering our needs and not reaching too far when not appropriate. stanback is a reach but hey - looks to be a good one and will likely be a ST role to start or hurd may be gone.

Mocks mean abosolutly nothing right now, but the thought of Kenny Phillips back there with Roy Williams would be pretty nice. Thats if we can't get McFadden
