Gehlken: There is a high likelihood that Kelvin Joseph and Jabril Cox will be traded by or waived

Cox has been given ample opportunities to show what he's got and he's just not that good. Joseph I dont think will be cut but could be traded. But I think it would be for a 7th rd or a player. I dont think they outright cut him unless its for roster manipulation purposes and then bring him back to the 53.

I agree about Cox. I think, as for Joseph, he may be more valuable to us than most other teams. I could see us cutting him as his main contribution is special teams. That said, I think his main contribution is what keeps him on the team for now.

I'm not sure we have enough depth to cut Cox. But I'd sure be watching the waver wire for something. Maybe you could trade Joseph for someone else's LB that hasn't lived up to expectations. Give two guys a new chance.

Nobody is going to give you more than a conditional 7th IMO

I’m surprised with cox. With overshown injury especially. They may have to pick up someone via trade.

Both have played great on ST and that will be a consideration. Joseph and Cox both had better games last time than fans think. When you force the run inside and your coverage is good where the QB goes another route then they were doing good things in both areas. Maybe we do trade one or both but considering the depth at LB, I tend to think they both stand a high chance of making the 53 as does Harper.

Joseph had the dumb offsides but I thought he was a good ST player last year and has played well in the slot this preseason. I don’t even like him but by his play I was assuming he made the roster.
It's hard to believe with the line of scrimmage literally having a painted line going thru it all the way from sideline to sideline and he still manages to not know he's offsides.

They're most likely keeping Joseph. He's looked like he's made some strides and looked decent in preseason. If penalties alone were going to get someone kicked off of the team, it would be Juanyeh Thomas, since that penalty he got completely turned around the complexion prior preseason game. But Juanyeh is too talented for that and I feel like Joseph is showing enough flashes that they'll look past a singular penalty in a game we won.

Jabril Cox, I didn't see anything notable from him. He might be kept because of the Overshown injury, but out of the two, he's the one who most likely won't be on the team.

I think they keep both. Linebacker depth and Joseph actually had a really good preseason besides the offsides penalty
