If anyone is stupid enough to think Larry Flynt cares about anything other then his degenerate desires, then Forrest Gump is a genius.

THis slippery slope BS is what is used to defend garbage like Larry Flynt. Because there is nothing else.

The public has NO RIGHT TO SEE THOSE PICTURES. THE ONLY OTHER BS BIGGER THEN SLIPPERY SLOPE IS PUBLICS RIGHT TO KNOW.

Larry Flint is an American Icon, and has done more for YOUR rights than you'll ever know. Love him or hate him, he has fought the good fight when it comes to the freedoms we hold dear. I'm a big fan of his, and he has done some great things for this country.

That being said, I'm not sure how I feel about this sort of thing. I can appreciate the families and the deads right to privacy, but blocking news and giving the family some peace of mind is important too.

As far as flynts business being porn, well that is true, but he also wants to keep his magazine in circulation, and if there is one thing that is having trouble sustaining itself, its printed porn. Online, DVD, etc, is big. Print??? Not so much. He's just looking for new angles.

All he has done is push his trash and used the courts to get what he wanted the man is a sleaze bag nothing more.

I couldn't disagree with this more if I tried real hard.

If it was your sister, do you want her nuder and decapitated body in his smut?

Good, I hope the printed porn industry dies. It won't, but I can hope.

remember freedoms are there to protect the really weird views, not the mainstream ones.

just like the old gun debate, silence Flynt and you start on a slippery slope to no freedom

anyway, who here hasn't either watched Hustler tv or looked at his magazine at some point in his life

besides anyone who can make old Jerry Falwell go insane is fine by me

How did I know you would be on Hustlers side in seeing a dead and mutilated womans body.

The "weirdness" of Flynt's views is not the issue here.

As the courts ruled, Flynt was violating the rights of the victim's family. Your rights end where the rights of others begin. If you had read the article, you would know there are already laws in place that prevent the release of certain photos without permission from next of kin. No one is trying to overturn those laws. No one regards them as a "slippery slope."

It's nothing like the "old gun debate." My owning a gun does not affect you. My attempt to publish the crime scene photos of one your dead loves ones does, however.

I'm sure I have looked at a Hustler magazine at some point in the past. However, when I was looking at it, I didn't think to myself, "Gee. This is nice, but it's missing something. Hmm. Let me see. What would make this better? I've got it! The decapitated body of a murder victim!"

If Flynt really thinks gruesome death pictures are the key to saving his floundering magazine, he can hire a makeup artist and stage the same kinds of scenes. That way, he can still live in his sick little world and not affect anyone.

Alot of Flynt haters here I see. Thats ok. He's an easy target to hate. But I will stand by my admiration of him. Does that mean I think he should publish pics of a decapitated victim? No.

But he's not as evil as you people think he is. He got a sex tape of jessica lynch that he could have published or sold. He chose not to, because he knew she was just a pawn in the govts plan to make her out to be some sort of propaganda scheme for the military. It was a joke, he decided she had been through enough and never let them out.

I think we all have to be careful of what we censor. One mans porn is another mans art.

Who gets to draw the line? I think the people should draw the line and not the govt. And the people draw the line with their pocketbooks. The govt draws the line with what they want people to know.

You don't want to see it, fine, don't buy it. But I'd sure like to know how many of you who are complaining against this sort of thing googled the video of the kidnapped journalists who they beheaded in Iraq and put it online.

We are careful of what we censor but sorry no one wants a free for all where you can pedal smut any where you choose to. Communities have had success removing toppless clubs away from schools and churches. Community do have a right to set certain standards.

The people did draw the line. Believe it or not, the victim's family members are every bit as much "people" as Larry Flynt, and virtually every founding document of this country gives legal recourse to the people for redressing grievances when their rights are infringed upon.

What a swell guy, he didn't violate someone's privacy, so I guess we can forget he wants to publish pictures of mutilated victims at the cost of a family's grief or a brutal crime scene to ridicule a competitor. A real prince.

I'm willing to bet if that sex tape somehow hurt the governments image, instead of aiding their own lousy cause, Larry would have provided it in HD for you.

No one is even talking about the porn aspect. It exists, we get it and no one is butt hurt over it. Crime scenes and victims aren't porn, nor are they public domain. Being on the news for whatever misfortune doesn't extinguish your rights as a human, an American, or whatever pretext you think people enjoy rights under.

Trying to correlate this kind of depravity to our rights is the slipperiest slope and you should not allow degenerates to hitch their wagon to the righteous cause of freedom of expression.

.

My first thoughts when I saw that line.

If it hurt ol Bush (no pun:eek: ) and crew, then he'd not only publish it, but be trying to get it on the silver screen. Maybe Michael Moore could help.

And if it somehow helped the current group, my guess is he would do the same. As far as I can tell, he has always had his own self interest at heart....he was not being noble by not publishing that tape.

Here's a slightly more apt analogy:

If Larry Flynt decides to photograph women without their consent and then publish those pictures in his magazine, should the morality of that decision be determined solely by "pocketbooks" -- i.e. whether or not people buy it?
