Cmon... are you freaking kidding me. Some of you bash jerry for being stupid. look in the Mirror.
He is reporting to camp from what I’ve heard and yes he would. Barkley already set the standard, cook followed.

In preseason when you’re battling for a job, you have to perform regardless the players that are out there. Vaughn almost had more rushing yards on one play than Dowdle and Davis had combined and he was playing with a bunch of third stringers. The excuse for David is he was going up against Jacksonville’s starting unit behind our backup OL. Naturally, if we had our entire starting unit out there, it should improve our running game, but there’s no assurances we’re going to have a consistent running game with the backs we have once the regular season starts. We have questions on the OL and Pollard is coming off a serious injury.
Which medical professional within the organizations are not concerned with

Pollard will be fine

I would have been interested in Cooks. Four eye is no better/different than Zeke at this point.

Dallas cut Elliott… he was never signing back here.

Cook is just a slower Pollard and cost waaaaayyyy too much. He was never signing here either.

Fournette… the only thing above average about him has been his salary.

They’ll be fine with Pollard, Davis or Dowdell, and Deuce.
Keep telling yourself that, up until you see the first few short yardage attempts get stopped cold.

He is reporting to Camp and has stated he will no tplay unless he is 100%. He is reporting to camp to avoid the fine money. He will be present, but lets see if he actually practices..... this is the "Hold in," they have been talking about.

We’ll find out if Pollard still has the same burst and quickness when the season starts.

With Jones out, after Pollard it's all PS caliber players at RB. Maybe Deuce exceeds that, but he doesn't complement Pollard on gameday. We gonna keep Rico active just for short yardage? I feel like we're forced to. We should have a veteran who can run short yardage at #2.

I’m not so sure Rico is the guy for short yardage. We’ll be entering the regular season with several unproven backs. Once we set sail on opening day and discover a leak it could lead to problems.

Will you be able to tell? You don't see it with Rico when he obviously has it.

Where I'm going with this is that there is no reason to be all that concerned about the RB position (I thought this was pretty clear), because #1 - in the modern NFL the position really does not matter that much, and #2 - what they've already got is a good enough group of players.

None of the options remaining on the market are really any better than what Dallas already has on the roster, and some washed vet like Leonard Fournette is not going to move the needle.

Also, in 2015 didn't Darren McFadden rush for something like the 6th most yards in the entire league? If anything I think that kind of goes to show that good-enough RB play can pretty much be found anywhere, even in a lost season like 2015 when defenses were loading up the box to tee-off on an offense led by Mat Cassel, Brandon Weeden, Kellen Moore, and co.

Anytime you enter the regular season with several unproven backs there’s going to be a concern, especially with concerns on the OL. The RB position always matters, because you still have to be able to pound the ball in short yardage situations and at the goal line. None of the options that are available other than a healthy Fournette are better options than what we have. Injuries have brought down Fournette, so I don’t expect the Cowboys to look at him. As for Darren McFadden, he put up just over 1000 yards in 2015, which was 800 fewer yards than DeMarco Murray put up the previous season. He only scored 3 TDs compared to Murray who had 13 the previous season. A more capable back would’ve put up 1500+ and at least 9 TDs behind our OL. McFadden got chased down from behind in one game. No one feared him, which is why everyone teed off on our QBs. If the Cowboys didn’t see a problem with their running game, they would’ve never drafted Zeke with a top five pick the following season.

Rico “obviously” has it? He has a grand total of 24 yards rushing and zero TDs since 2020. You think every player we have has it. Lol

I'm decidedly unsold on Malik and Rico as runners, but I don't want Pollard doing short yardage, and Rico seems a slightly better option than Davis. Looks the part more to me.

Lol, you just get it. Awful evaluator you are. As of right now. It is Pollard, Deuce, and Rico. You are totally blind.

I don’t want Pollard doing short yardage either, which is why we may have a dilemma. I’m not sure anyone we have is suited for consistently moving the chains in short yardage situations and punching the ball in the endzone. If we can’t get it done in short yardage situations we’ll be relying on Dak and our kicker all season.

You came to the conclusion on Rico Dowdle that he “has it” after 7 carries for 24 yards and a fumble, and you’re calling me totally blind? Lol

He is the 3rd back and can return kickoffs. Pretty easy to see.
