Get Carimi and Moffitt Draft

There is not an O lineman around in this draft worth a top 15 pick.

Just like Gabe, I think your going to see both Wisconsin OL drop a little. There stock got too hot too fast and the Senior Bowl exposed some flaws. I'm not saying they hurt their stock as much as a few other players really helped theirs.

I think Moffitt really helped his stock by showing he could play center, and play it pretty well. I tend to think he will be gone before we pick in the 4th.

And I still think Carimi will go before we pick in the 2nd.

I believe your previous post said "I would LOVE Sherrod at #9."

I think he will be drafted that high whether or not hes worth that or not

all good O lineman are taken to early

they are to vauleable not to take them

There is not an O lineman around in this draft worth a top 15 pick

did any of you so called experts me included

predict that

AD would be taken at 11
Iupati taken at 17
Pouncy at 18 - probably the best pick

Bulaga at 23 - Rookie Bryan

Bulaga played both the right and left tackle spots for the Packers and did a stellar job handling James Harrison and Lamar Woodley.

(He was picked one spot ahead of Dez Bryant in last April's draft.)

Would a Gabe Carimi, Tyron Smith or a Derek Sherrod offer the Cowboys offense a similar lift in 2011?

my answer is YES

I keep ya telling you, it may not seem like it now but Carimi will be there in the 2nd round for us.

I agree.

Dallas is best served drafting a tackle in the 2nd round because there will be a few.
CB and DT/DE should be their priority if they stay put at #9 but I would take a serious look at Ingram if he's still on the board. ;)

Kiper seems to mirror my thoughts:

OFFENSIVE TACKLES
1. Nate Solder, Colorado 6-9 315
2. Gabe Carimi, Wisconsin 6-7 327
3. Tyron Smith, USC 6-5 280
4. Anthony Castonzo, Boston College 6-7 287
5. Derek Sherrod, Mississippi St. 6-6 305

Analysis: Nate Solder has shined so far during the workout process and has a shot to move his way toward the top 10. After that, you have five guys that all could concievably go within the first round, but not one has what scouts would call a profile without any questions. Plenty of chance for movement among this list.

The problem is not whether (insert OT's name here) Should or Should not go in the first or fall to the second.

The problem is other teams reaching for some of the OTs or OG as there are a limited number of them in this draft.

We have seen this happen before to the cowboys. Thinking an Olineman will fall to them only to see them snapped up a few picks before they can get them.

They have to be very careful or it could happen to them again if they expect one there that they really like in the second round.

It has happened too many times before,JJ needs to get his priorities straight this draft. He cannot ignore the O-line anymore.

I don't like Solder. I think he is soft and better suited for a zone blocking scheme.

Carimi or Brewster were the best Tackles IMO at the Senior Bowl.

Carimi and Dallas are also about as perfect of a fit as you can find.

IMO Carimi is the best Tackle as of today in this draft.

He is versatile on the field and a mauler.

Everyone knocks his athleticism but I just don't see it. Especially when everyone raves about Solders athleticism in comparison.

True... Once an Offensive Tackle gets picked it's like they all go.

exactly what most of us are saying -

those top 5 will be gone by 25

an Solder would be the one I would think is at the bottom of that list

this how I rank that list

OFFENSIVE TACKLES
1. Derek Sherrod, Mississippi St. 6-6 305
2. Gabe Carimi, Wisconsin 6-7 327
3. Tyron Smith, USC 6-5 280

during Senior Bowl week at practice one day Carimi on one play a off-tackle run to his side he pushed Cameron Jordan back with ease yes the same Cameron Jordan some Cowboys fans want us to draft at nine

and then at the second level he picked up Greg Jones another highly rated prospect while still engaged with Jordan.

nuff said in my book
