New Orleans 20-to-1
Philadelphia 22-to-1
Dallas 25-to-1

Just have two quick comments. Why is Carolina always near the top of one of these lists? Second of all I love how 4 teams are ranked ahead of us when they didn't even make the playoffs last year, 3 of which are in a tougher conference.

I'm suprised Tennessee isn't in the top 10
That caught my eye immediately too. I also would add Philly and Seattle to that list of questionable ones.

None top Denver IMO though. 2nd year QB in a division where they are behidn the Chargers and barely ahead of the Chiefs? Lunacy.

And the Brady man crushes continue. Old defense, lots of new WRs for Brady to work with, a very good second year RB with marginal depth at the position. Weis and Crennell developing their own teams.

Carolina 16-1 ? Based on what ? I recall the Saints in the playoffs last season and only upgraded...yet the Saints are 20-1 ?!?!

There are a lot of these odds that seem a little out of sorts.

Early Super Bowl odds are up, pegging Dallas as a 25-1 favorite to win the Super Bowl.

That ties the Cowboys for 13th overall with the Steelers and 6th in the NFC, behind Carolina (16-1) Chicago (18-1) New Orleans and Seattle (20-1) and Philadelphia (22-1). At least the wise guys think Dallas will again be a playoff team, though they don’t see any improvement under Wade Phillips by these odds.

The NFC gets little love, with four AFC teams getting shorter odds New England (3-1) San Diego (13-2) Indy (7-1) and Denver (12-1) than the NFC favorite Panthers.

I'm not a betting man.. I've never done the Vegas or casino thing or even the lottery.. Sure, I'll bet my dad or my buddy 2 or 3 bucks on a Cowboys game, but that's about it..

But 25-1? For as good as the Cowboys are gonna be this year, in my opinion, I am seriously thinking about putting $20 down.. If they do win it, I win $500 and if not, hey, I'm only out $20 and it would add a new element of watching the games this year and be something fun to talk about.. I really think I might do it..

Oh, and I like that our odds are sorta low.. Means that we aren't being taken too seriously and we will surprise a lot of people..
Famous last words...

The pats went to the AFC championship game with RECHE CALDWELL, a castoff from SD, as it's leading wideout. Now that this team has some legit superstars on both sides of the ball, I think they are going to do even better. My only questions are that I wonder if all the Merriweathers and Moss's of the team are going to keep it in their pants and work as a team; and also if the pats will/will not crumble under the pressure now that they have such higher expectations because of all the big-name FA's brought in.

I agree that they're the clear favorite, but 3-1 odds is just dumb. There are some stupid people betting out there.

Ayuh, Denver 12-to-1? No way. Maybe the Denver of two or three years ago.

Patriots 3-to-1, I just don't see it...Man love for the new dynasty I think.

I place our team right around the Carolina, Chicago, Denver odds. Those are teams you can have confidence in having a chance to beat, IMO.

Maybe we're in the middle of the pack because of the new coach. It must create some uncertainty. Whose to say we wouldn't be seeing better odds if Parcells was still around, if only because he was a known commodity in Dallas. Whereas we're in a new administration now, and we have yet to see how Wade will command this team with these players.

I mean - We beat the super bowl champs when they were 9-0. This is a team that stands a hell of a chance against anyone in the league.

I'm not the betting type. Especially on football and basketball, because even if one team is so overwhelmingly better than the next, teams are so evenly matched in general that anyone can win, it really matters about who is hotter at the time. Look at the Mavs; I would have bet (had I been a betting man:p: ) that the Mavs would have routed the GS warriors, even if GS won all four meetings between the two teams.

I would much rather bet on things I am doing, like making a basket or something silly like that; at least I am IN CONTROL of the outcome if I screw up.

That's even more reason to bet against New England. For example:

For the Patriots you'd have to bet $250 to win $1000.

But if you spent $59 on Chicago, $48 on Seattle, $48 on New Orleans, $44 on Philly, and $39 on Dallas (total of $238) you'd get a little over $1000 if any one of the teams won (less the other bets).

So essentially the Patriots have as the same odds as Chicago, Seattle, New Orleans, Philly, and Dallas combined.

So, #2 pick for Cleveland if this holds up?

Yeah, I'll take that.

Your absolutely right, I agree with you on that. Point taken. Maybe I'm a bit too "yella" to risk losing my hard earned lettuce; I still don't think I will be betting against the Pats if I decide to bet.

Question cobra kai: How much was the most you've ever lost betting? The most?

I'm pretty cheap myself. A few hundred at a casino on various tables/games is the most I've ever lost in one sitting. I used to play poker online regularly and would net about $100 per day.

Going to a casino is more for the atmosphere and free drinks/food. :D

Cool; I've heard of it; I've heard it is classy, but I wouldn't know personally as I've only been to Vegas. What do you do there?
